Into the Unknown: The Making of Frozen II

Updated: Feb 2, 2021

It is no secret that Frozen 2 is dear to me. I spent all of 2019 waiting for the movie and throughout the months, I spent a great amount delving into teasers, the reviews--I anticipated for the movie, the merchandise, and was terribly excited for the chance to see where Elsa and the others are going to go in the sequel.

As the months carried on, the excitement grew, and grew, and grew... and it climaxed when it was initially the day to see the movie I have been waiting for--for like forever. Needless to say, I had some emotions and really I LOVE THE MOVIE.

My adoration of the Frozen Franchise--is very transparent. Suffice to say, I am terribly excited and am willing to eat up anything that has to do with Frozen/Frozen 2 after the movie. I'm still doing that right now, actually. Waiting any day now for that rumor that Frozen 3 is on the works.

So what to say? Well, it really made me understand even more just HOW MUCH work is put into putting this movie together. How much work in just making a ten-second shot work. Every character has a 'team' working on the character. Ever environment, setting, physics.... the team, the animators all did their research/homework. There was SO MUCH that went into this movie. And it showed.

Into the Unknown: Making of Frozen 2 didn't even hit my radar until literally 2 days prior to it being released last week. Usually, I'm not a big fan of "the-making-of" stuff. To be candid, seeing everything raw and unfinished is not my thing. But with Frozen, I'm willing to take more of it. Needless to say, I found the time and I binged watched it on Disney+.

I wish there was a way for me to simply just jotting it all down but seriously! I don't know if I can't I just really think that watching the six episodes that just outlines the work that was placed on it. Yes, Idina Menzel did amazing work to make Elsa, ELSA but the people behind that made the character, that made the movie/s, it's truly astounding stuff.

Then the music. The music. Need I say I loved watching the process to make "Some Things Never Change"? But they showed the band adding their flavor to Elsa's famous Into The Unknown song... and it's amazing. Again, the voice actresses/actors did amazing stuff but seriously, putting it all together really is magical. Go watch SE: 1 EP: 1 on the 29:00 min mark.

Also, Show Yourself's portion is actually really interesting to watch.

While the Documentary did give a bigger window for fans to look into behind what made Frozen 2 the majesty that it is, the Docuseries also deviated a bit. They went through a lot of things--they made things personal by going through Chris Buck's tragedy, they went through different animators and cast members (it was cool showing their 'prom night'), and many more. Again, it was an eye-opener and I highly appreciated it. Seriously, it's worth watching. If anything else, it reminds us that there is a lot of people who deserve some credit.

For me, I really just want to say thank you to everyone that worked hard to make the movie. Thank you.

Until Next Time!
