Now this, this is a classic character from my youngling days! Yes, I used to watch Gunam Wing, and Epyon was one of the Gundams I liked! So he was a must (kind of). So without any more delay, let's get into the review, shall we?

Yeah, there are three in this wave.... I'm not sure why Heavy Arms, Sandlot, and Shenlong aren't here, but I'm going to take a wild guess that this wave is testing the waters to see if there is a market for these guys. I was hesitant with starting a new series of POPs but the moment I saw this guy... anyways, on to the review!

Out of all the Gundams from Gundam Wing, I'd say Epyon is high up there in terms of design. It's a pretty daunting task for any toyline to replicate something like Epyon, but here we are with Funko trying their hand. So, did they impress? I'm going to say this right now: this POP has a chance to be high up on my top 5 catch for 2025. The details on the sculpting are (gun)damn impressive! The recognizable face, the iconic 'horns', that Gundam face, it's also so well sculpted. His body doesn't get the short end of the stick, since it includes the chestpiece, shoulder pads, wings, legs, and the whip... it's just a well executed piece. I love the shape of the energy blade; it looks even more menacing since it's a completely different plastic from the main piece.

A dynamic pose isn't necessary for Epyon. But his hovering stance isn't at all too vanilla, and not to mention, it's easier to see all the nooks and crannies that are detailed out. Honestly, this pose is perfect! It's what we need with a POP that is full of details.

The colors are spot on, and the paint job is sharp and clean! With the plethora of sculpting work put into this POP, I'm glad the plastic choices and paint execution are also spot on. The dark red contrasts against the black and white highlights, the green eyes, and the blade... from front to back, the Epyone was given the love it deserves in the color department. No complaints. At all.

Close up, this POP shines. Look at all those panels, metal parts, the Gundam design--just a well-made POP.

A definite recommendation. Details, accuracy, great coloring, the pose compliments the work put into the POP; yeah, all in all, it's a great POP. Gundam fan or perhaps just a casual fan, there's plenty to enjoy. Very tempted to see what the others look like in person now.
Until Next Time!
