Funko POP: Donatello (TMNT Classic)

Another classic TMNT POP coming in! This time it's the genius of the brothers! I've been very excited to get all four of these turtles together so here's the second Ninja Turtle to be reviewed! Let's check out Don's POP, shall we?

I do like this set. It refers to my (super) young self when I was big into TMNT and their action figures. Funny enough, these classic looks, of course, didn't fully represent the Ninja Turtles as we saw them in the original cartoon show.

Donatello is a bit on the darker side compared to his brothers. At least, with this version of him, anyway. For the most part, the Turtles are all consistent with their colors until we get into the live-action movies. But as far as this POP goes, some details are noted. The straps, the belts, the shell, and the Bo-Staff holster are all well done. I love the details on the subtle plastic, but if one looks, there's a lot of things to appreciate. The bandana, elbow & kneepads are also well done with their strain and wrinkles. The pose isn't my first idea for a staff-wielding ninja but it works. One thing to point out is that the staff is slightly warped right out of the packaging, which sucks but it's not the worst thing in the world.

Nice details on his shell!

Colors are pretty good with this guy. I love how the purple is dark but still vibrant enough to juxtapose against his dark green-brown skin color. The shell is also well done and the classic 'orange' plastic look for the weapon still drives nostalgia wild! Awesome job in this department all-in-all.

I swear that if you get one, you can't just not get them all, right? Here he is POP Classic Donatello next to POP Classic Leonardo.

A must-have? Yes. Collecting all four is necessary since I only got Leonardo from the classic action figures. I suggest taking a good look at each one and make sure you find a Donatello without the warped bo-staff; it's obvious in my copy but it's not a total deal breaker. I highly recommend this piece though if you are a Ninja Turtles/POP collector fan. The four turtles together would look amazing together and I can't wait to have all four in one picture.

Until Next Time!
