Another great one passed us by. Peter Cullen, the legendary voice of Optimus Prime, passed away. 2026 is something else... keeps taking away legends.
I'm not the biggest Transformers fan, but Transformers is part of my childhood. I remember watching the show as a kid, and Optimus Prime himself is so iconic that the Autobot followed me through the years. And while I've always been more on the Beast Wars side, Optimus Prime was the core of Optimus Primal--and behind the voice was Peter Cullen.

He lived the role, and his speeches and his words touched many children, and then some.

He also voiced the narration for Toonami. Another fond memory of my childhood. At the time, I didn't know, but I always felt that the voice was familiar.
Words can’t fully describe the impact this man has had on generations of fans. Heck, even non-hardcore Transformers fans and casual viewers know Optimus Prime. Peter Cullen has been the voice, the heart, and the soul of Optimus for so long. His words have always carried real weight, and the countless battles he’s fought through that voice have inspired and moved people.
While Optimus Prime as a character will live on, we’ve lost a core part of what made him special. But as long as we remember what Mr. Cullen brought to the role, we’ll never truly lose who Optimus Prime really is.

So... 2026, you just keep taking, don't you? Can you just be strong enough to be gentle for once? But beyond that, rest well, Mr. Cullen. Know that your legacy will always be cherished, honored, and remembered.
Until all are one.
See you Next Time.
