What’s this? A Final Fantasy XIV figurine collection? Yes, it is!

It’s been a while since I got one of these guys, so I’m pretty excited to check them out. Square Enix is definitely better with static figurines like these compared to their articulated ones. So, let’s go!

It's the entire Scions, so this lineup looks pretty good. Spoiler alert: I have all of them!

Starting things off with everyone’s favorite Mama Cat — Y’shtola Rhul!

She’s definitely my favorite character in FFXIV, and I love pairing her with my M’qote, A’rlen. I adore her sass, her dialogue, and how her looks throughout the years always manage to flirt with both conservative and promiscuous vibes at the same time.

While her Shadowbringers outfit has become her signature look, I’m not mad about it at all — it’s a fantastic look for her. The outfit is full of layers: the long ruffled skirt, thigh-high boots, fur on the shoulders, and all the little trinkets everywhere. It’s a bit extra, but still stylish enough to make a strong statement.

All of that is beautifully captured in this figurine. The sculpted details are excellent, and even her hair and tail have nice texture to mimic fur. It’s instantly recognizable as the Scions’ resident Mama Cat.

Y’shtola’s pose feels very familiar — like something she’s done in-game. I can’t say exactly when or how often, but it’s definitely recognizable. It looks really good as a miniature figurine. The pose allows you to fully appreciate all the detailed work on the figure, and honestly, she looks awesome like this.

Ms. Rhul is mostly dressed in black, so getting her colors right should be easy. At the same time, because she’s so dominated by one color, it could easily end up looking flat or plain. Fortunately, the accent colors she has created a beautiful contrast against all that black. The vibrant paint on her face and those striking eyes are gorgeous! Her hair, ears, tail, and skin tone all look absolutely amazing. Even the smaller details on her clothing — the trinkets and feathers — are colored accurately to her in-game counterpart.

The paint job is clean, and the colors are spot-on. That’s really all we can ask for, and Y’shtola delivers beautifully.

Just up close, one can appreciate the detailed work on her dress, along with how spot-on the paint work is on her face.

Y’shtola Rhul will always be a must-have when it comes to affordable figurines of her. If there had been an option to get her by herself, I probably would’ve gone that route. But for the sake of securing her in my collection, I had to go with the full set.

Still, she alone makes the whole purchase worth it!

Thancred has had some odd outfits throughout FFXIV, but his Gunbreaker look is easily the best. Armed with his Gunblade, he rocks a long white coat with lightweight armor underneath, plus a ton of pouches and straps to keep his ammunition stocked for maximum damage. His outfit is full of bells and whistles (kind of like a 90s outfit but not as ridiculous), and this figurine manages to capture most of them. There’s a lot of detail and little quirks going on. From the wrinkles on his long coat to the belts, straps, ammunition, and his unique, busy-looking Gunblade — the sculpting department did a great job!

The Tank of the Scions is posed in a solid fighting stance — Gunblade resting on his back, feet planted wide, ready for both offense and defense. It’s a good pose that feels very in-game, and like Y’shtola’s, it lets you fully appreciate all the work put into the figure.

The colors are done well too. The difference between his white hair and white coat is clear and doesn’t blend together. All the little things on his outfit are painted with care and accuracy. He also has a charming, sharp “mugging” face. Overall, the paint job is clean.

Now that's a handsome face you'd want to defend you, eh?

He also got a warped gunblade that I had to remedy.

Thancred isn’t one of my favorite characters, but this is a really well-done figurine. His design has a lot going on, and they captured it beautifully.

So far, the first two figures are a strong indicator of what to expect from the rest of the Scions. Well sculpted, nice details, good poses, and just overall great-looking figurines.

High recommend for Scions and FFXIV fans! I’m very happy with these. Until Next Time!
