Okay, so Summer Game Fest for 2026 came, and it dropped some serious hitters! Let's not waste time with the intros and get right into the meat of it all! 2027 is going to be an awesome year for gaming!
This isn't strictly what was announced in Game Fest, mind you! It's days before and days after news as well. But, yeah! Let's get on with it.

Been waiting for this! Final Fantasy VII Revelation! The third and FINAL addition to the Remake series. They didn't hold back with what they gave either! So much awesomeness!
The Reveal Trailer was pretty much a confirmation that a lot of the events from the original still stand. Still, we're given a spectacle of the gameplay and highlighting some of the characters, especially Vincent and Cid.
And, yes, I'm aware the clips above weren't shown until the Gameplay trailer!

And also, Tifa gets a new Dressphere? Well, it's called FITs in this universe, but more on that later! All we know from this trailer is that it's going to be insane!
The gameplay trailer offers a lot of insight into what we are going to get for the 3rd installment of FFVII-R.

Looks like we are going to be treading through familiar beats, but through the lens of modern-day gameplay and graphics!

One of the most anticipated aspects of Final Fantasy VII: Taking control of the Highwind! Look at her and all her glory!
Exploration with Highwind will not include some parachuting moments. Something present in the original game, however, was exclusive to the final Midgar mission.

Of course, we can't have a showing of FFVII-R without showing us this guy! Sephiroth continues to be a thorn on our side!

Ah, the Weapons! Ultima Weapon looks like an absolute beast! And I can only imagine just how much of a challenge he is going to give us!

I'm going to assume that this scene is when the crew fights them one last time in Midgar. Well, it's not the Wutai fight!

Now that's a familiar stance from Mr. Strife! Cross-Slash?

So FFVII-R is just pulling every good thing from other Final Fantasies to make an ultimate game, eh? The card game from FFVIII, and now we have a version of FFX-2's Dressphere with FITS! That's awesome. More stuff for Tifa and the crew, it seems. Wonder if we are going to get a Geomancer Aerith, somehow?

Oh, and look! This moment! Is it going to be QTE or just a cinematics? I'd prefer it to be gameplay, but I'll take cinematics.

There's also the Yuffie and Elena scene. Square, y'all gonna be brave?

So this was a good showing for the final addition to the FFVII-R series. Vincent Valentine, Cid Highwind, new gameplay, iconic moments, and just an overall beautiful Revelation for a game I've been waiting on for a long time. Here we go! Spring 2027!
I really enjoyed the RE2 Remake. Claire Redfield, I feel, is my favorite character of the Resident Evil franchise, along with Ada, Jill, Sheva, and Chris. Code Veronica's remake has been on the horizon for a long time now. So, here is the reveal.

Her face model looks the same. Wonder if Stephanie Panisello will voice Claire again?

And Hunk? Hunk is out to help Claire out, right?

Her model is looking good, and if we get the chance to see Chris Redfield too, we're going to get treated to some awesome reunion between these siblings!
Street Fighter VI is going on its 4th year, and it's only now that I decide to pay attention to it in this capacity?

Well, with Tifa Lockhart in the lineup, it's only natural that I pay attention. Am I going to get this game finally? Maybe. Tifa is not going to be out until next year, though, so I've got some time. A Dolphin Punch vs Sho-Ryu-Ken?!

Yeah, this game is going to be something I'm going to get. A whole lot of SNIKTs, violence, and going to be something for us nerds clamoring for a new Super Hero video game.

While I was very interested in the first game, I never did pull the trigger. The Nier Automata collaboration tickled my interest, but still... I didn't go for it. Would I now? I'm not sure. But this game does look awesome.
We are not done with Final Fantasy just yet! This game came out of nowhere! Retitled as "Resonance", this was, at once, Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. And it was a mobile game that I actually played.

The graphics are actually awesome. The gameplay, for a turn-based game, is actually pretty exciting. And if you look at that screenshot, one can see Tidus... Firion.. and Terra Branford?! What?! (Doubt they're gonna have Grande here).

The menu gives me classic with a modern twist!

And, yes. The classic Summons are going to make an appearance!

You know who else is going to make an appearance? Yes, Terra Branford herself! And she gets her own cut scene, too.

YuRiPa also makes an appearance, and I hope they get to stay. Not only do we get default FFX-2 gals, but we get Floral Fallal and Songstress Yuna, Dark Knight Paine, and Berserker Rikku! Please. PLEASE let them stay!

And, that's right. Y'shtola is in there!
So there is plenty to like here, for sure. I haven't been gaming as I have been in the past, but starting in September, I'm going to be digging into Wolverine and then to Resonance. Then 2027 has FFVII-R, RE Veronica, and at some point, SFVI - Tifa! Pretty excited for all of this. As we get more updates, I'm obviously going to post some more!
Until Next Time!
