Another Dissidia coming?! Yes! That's right! We are getting another Dissidia game. That's good news, right? Well yes! But the bad news is that it's for mobile.... yes, I know. Why in the world would they do this? Well, let's not completely fall into despair. Let's see some of the good things it has to offer. First, let's check out the trailer:
The premise itself is something I can get behind. The graphics don't look bad at all, albeit it's a step down from Dissidia NT (in my opinion), but it does look good. I'm also very intrigued by the notion of our favorite FF characters in modern day.

Why in the world did they find themselves in our modern day as specters and not another reality? I guess that's the story, eh?

The roster is a little different than the usuals we've gotten from Dissidia NT. It's not just the main FF protagonists from the respective games. I'm not 100% aligned with this, but I also see some GREAT potential from characters who don't usually get the spotlight.

First, let's talk about the obvious! They have our favorite Half Esper coming in and dressing up like a schoolgirl. Yeah, I'm not at all disappointed with that.
Terra Branford is back to represent the roster of Final Fantasy VI! And one shouldn't fret, they have her original outfit along with her new modern-day fitter. The gal's showing off some serious legs here, ain't she? I also love the fact that she has her Magitek Knight outfit there, too. A complete contrast to her modern-day outfit, that much is certain.

Casting spells while wearing a schoolgirl outfit is nothing new to us, but seeing this adorable Half Esper do it is, of course, all so brand new!

Hopefully, they never forget about her Benevolent Maiden outfit. That is by far my favorite one out of all her other outfits. Though the schoolgirl look is something I can definitely get used to.

The lineup is interesting! They've really done a fine job mixing things up between protagonists and support characters. We're getting more in the future because there are a couple of numbered Final Fantasies that haven't gotten love... heck, maybe we'll see Type-0 and FFT again? Queen, please? Perhaps we can get Agrias?!

I am shocked that they chose Gaia to represent FFXIV! I have nothing against Gaia, of course. She's that goth kinda gal with those ... erm... lips that really can talk. Yeah.

Still, not having Y'shtola to represent FFXIV on Dissidia is a bit heart wrenching. Maybe they're trying to be as grounded as possible, so they are taking out Eorzea's resident cat gal. Hoping she gets added later on, though!
Now, as far as the others go, they are all looking rather nice in their outfits. Each one gets a modernized version of their clothes in some way or another. Rinoa's outfit is how I'd imagine it in modern and 'grounded' form. Lightning... well, the gal always loves to show off her legs, right? Actually, most FF gals do. FOR SOME REASON?

That's a lot of blondes. Hoping to eventually get a green-haired Terra again, eh? And, yes, they all look good while brandishing their out-of-this-world weapons.

Oh, the interactions! I'm just clamoring to see what they'll be about, but hoping to see more Terra interactions with other FF characters... RIKKU?

I'm not going to talk about the gameplay too much because it's a mobile game. There was Dissidia Opera Omnia, which also had some great mix with a lot of Final Fantasy characters--I played that for a bit, but didn't stick to it. Duellem looks like it's going to be a bit more action-based compared to Opera Omnia's classic turn-based gameplay, but the mechanics of the mobile game never seem to stick with me, and that's not a bad thing either. I know Dissidia NT didn't really do as well as I'd have hoped, but the mobile game Dissidia may just mean Square Enix is sending this game to the abyss. We'll see, though.
One thing about this game is that it does have some potential for amazing team-ups, interaction, and more spotlight on some characters that never really get the love. We get to see these characters in other outfits, paint swaps, and their other alternate outfits. So that's what I'm going to be excited about.
Besides...

GHOSTS?! I am particularly interested in the silhouette second to the right. That can be no one but RIKKU. Seemingly her FFX version, but it is Rikku nonetheless. And I am all for it! This is what I am excited for!

This game is still on beta, and it won't be released until later in 2026. I want to say I'm super excited for it, but unfortunately, I'm just going to be a distant fan. I'll support it as much as I can from where I stand, I'm hoping it does well enough that it makes a round on consoles. HOPING.
Welps, that's about it. Will give it some updates once I get more news.
Until Next Time!
