Funko POP: Beta Ray Bill - PX Previews Exclusive

Now this is a POP I've wanted for a while now! Beta Ray Bill is one of those Marvel characters that I've liked, and while the spotlight on this guy has never stayed on for too long, I will say that he is due for another resurgence. Before that, though, let's take a look at this POP, shall we?

It's not part of a wave or anything. Just a "one off" in a bigger lineup of Marvel POPs.

He is a bobblehead

Beta Ray Bill has a classic outfit (and a POP of it too) and then somehwere along the line he got a simpler look, which I also liked. This particualr suit, not sure when it came about, but I love it. If anything else, it's for the helmet, and man, did Funko make sure that the helmet got a lot of attention. It's a heavy piece, and most of the weight is on Beta Ray Bill's head. All of those details, the crest on the helmet has a lot of details involved, and it looks amazing. The wings, the design, it all looks good. The rest of his armor has as much sculptwork with all the armor platings, the designs, etc. Stormbreaker also looks amazing, small, but still has that unique look as well as the lightning effect surrounding it. The cape also has some dynamics to it, which adds to the overall look. All that talk of Beta Ray Bill's costume, and I haven't even talked about how good his 'horse-face' looks. Very accurate to how he looks in the comics, which, to be fair, has been consistent through every page I've seen him in.

The pose isn't dynamic, and I think a flying pose would've done him some good. Still, the neutral stance allows for the collector to absorb all of the amazing details put into this POP.

The colors and paint are solid! Despite Beta Ray Bill having a darker tone to him, he still comes out pretty vibrant. That bronze(?) look to his helmet, belt, gauntlets, boots, it all mixes well with the dark blue and the red. The apint excetution are all clean as well, no paint defects on my copy.

Funny enough, the Walgreens Exclusive/Original Beta Ray Bill may still be my personal favorite out of the two. I also love how Stormbreaker is bigger for the OG. Though the new one has its winning qualities, for sure, like that helmet!

I actually like this POP, but if you have the original one from Walgreens, you're pretty set. But it all depends on how much you wanna have a Beta Ray Bill collection, right? He's got a lot of good details. He's heavy. And he looks great! If you see him in the wild and want more Marvel side characters, he's not a bad snag at all. I recommend.
