Funko POP: Drolta (Castlevania)

Updated: Sep 17

Alright! Another POP and it's from the latest addition to Castlevania! Have to admit, Nocturne is starting a bit slow for me but I ended up enjoying it. I don't know if I can compare it to the first series, but hey, it's a video game adaptation that I can admit I liked. There are a few interesting characters and Drolta is one of them. So without further adieu, let's look at Drolta's POP adaptation, shall we?

I like a couple of these POPs. Dare I say I like all of them? Will see if they end up in my collection. Drolta is here now and there is one other that will be making her way to my display! Guess who?!

Not a bobblehead

Drolta reminded me of a mid-boss Succubus character from the games. Funny enough, she's anything but mid in the show! She has a pretty intense look that matches her presence. The pose isn't anything crazy, but it does set the tone for this character in her POP form. The fiery pink flames for her hair are hard to replicate as a moving element, but I think Funko did their best. I feel it has that fluidness and each 'strands' of the flames look the part. The wings are amazing, love the horns and her outfit has details. Just check out her killer boots.

Details on the hair sculpt can be seen more from behind--does look like fire, right? Also the tail also has that fire tip. Well done.

Where to start with the color? First, her hair. At the same time, it doesn't fully look like a flame-like hair, the vibrant cotton-candy-like color makes it look convincing of what it's trying to do. It's a good contrast against her dark skin and black leather/wing combo. I love the color of her eyes, the hint of red, and not to mention the color scheme is just nicely put together. Though most of that is on character design, it is still appreciated that my copy is cleanly executed.

My three Castlevania POPs! I missed Trevor and Alucard--I know, I messed up. However I was shocked that no POP of Carmilla or Lenore. I would've loved them!

This angle is really good though. Shows sass and power.

For anyone who enjoyed Nocturne, I'd say that Drolta is a good snag. There are good details and the coloring is great. Some of it is obscured by the way the wings are posed, but it's all there. Recommend? Yes. Must? Depends. But don't sleep on this one in case it sells out. The secondhand market is going to be painful for the bucks.

Until Next Time!
