Funko POP: Momo Ayase

The leading lady of DanDaDan, Momo Ayase, herself in POP form! If it wasn't obvious, I love this anime! And Momo is definitely a highlight whenever she appears on screen!
Opening 2 isn't as good as the first, but I still love it!

It's a pretty simple set but straight to the point with some key characters! Obviously, others are missing here, but at the moment, this is good enough.

Momo, at first glance, is your typical eye candy tsundere anime girl. Yes, she has those qualities, but she actually mixes a bunch of different archetypes, and they all work to make her stand out from the usual tsundere. Design-wise, Momo wears several outfits throughout Season 1 and 2, but she’s most known for her schoolgirl uniform with that famously short skirt (no one’s complaining, right?). She’s got the long, fluffy socks, her classic shoes, the long sweater with the big bow, those alien-like earrings, and of course, her signature hairstyle that’s common but still has its own unique charm.
All of that is faithfully captured in this POP. The wrinkles on her clothing look organic, the quirks in her hair are present and accurate, and overall, she’s well sculpted and does a great job representing Ms. Ayase!

Momo’s pose is sassy and visually appealing. She has one hand on her hip, cocking it to the side — probably belittling or acting tough and angry at Okarun. Truth be told, a more dynamic, action-based pose would’ve done this POP more justice, since Momo does a lot of fighting in the anime. Heck, her spectral hands could’ve been a cool touch here, but she does have another POP that uses them.
Still, this is a classic Momo pose, and it looks really good as a POP. The sculpted wrinkles and all the little details are on point.

Momo’s color schemes are usually pretty well coordinated, with nice mixtures of bright and dark tones. Her standard schoolgirl uniform isn’t overly complicated in terms of color, but it’s very recognizable, so this POP had to match that vibe. Luckily, accuracy is a strong point in the paint apps. The paint job is especially clean, and the details on her alien earrings stood out to me almost immediately. Overall, it’s a really well-done paint job.

There's just a lot of Momo in that pose that makes this a pretty good POP.

Of course, Momo and Okarun. One of these days, going to need an action-style Momo with a running Okarun.

That's what this POP is referencing! The official artwork of her standing with that sass.

This is a winning POP. Simple but solid. If it's the only Momo POP I ever own, I'm going to be okay with it. But seeing how much good work they did on Ms. Ayase with a common POP, imagine the others! I highly recommend POP Momo!
Until Next Time!
