Yes! Now we're getting into more good stuff! Omega Red is a character that I do appreciate, though I have to admit I don't dabble with him enough to claim I'm a huge fan. But whenever he crosses paths with Wolverine and the X-Men, there are usually a few comic book panels. So here he is in POP form! Let's take a look at how Funko went from comic book to pop. Shall we?
This is an odd wave to say the least. It's an X-Men wave but just like the box said it's a "special edition" so there's no real wave. Regardless, Magik and Bishop are not bad choices at all.
I love Omega Red's look. He's very 90s, of course, but he fits just fine these days since comic-accurate costumes have been making a comeback on the big screen for the last decade and some odd years. He's got the shoulder pads, the straps, the knee pads, and the unnecessary but aesthetically striking face/mask design. And what's Omega Red without his carbonadium tentacles, right? All of these are present in his POP form minus the carbonadium. It all looks good! I do like the little details they placed with every part of Omega Red's costume, especially on his tentacles, his shoulder pads, and the straps. His hair is also well done along with that sculpted Omega symbol on his forehead. His pose isn't anything super dynamic but it does showcase Omega Red's details and he has that hand posture that shows off his main weapons. I also appreciate that scowling face that shows off his anger towards our certain Canadian and his band of merry mutant friends.
Colors are pretty damn good! I like the vibrant red contrasting with the blonde locks, the white skin, and the grey colors. Everything is pretty sharp and clean and I have no complaints when it comes to the colors and such.
Here is POP Omega Red next to his rival, POP Wolverine (classic). I'd say they're a good match made in heaven, eh?
A must-have? No. For me? Yes. I've always liked Omega Red. He is one of Wolverine's greatest nemesis and he comes with tentacles that can go a long way if he decides to fill out his resume and go elsewhere, ya know? Other than that, this was an amazing Birthday Present for me from my special friend. She knows how to fill up my POP addiction, doesn't she? At any rate, I recommend it to any Wolverine/X-Men fans. Omega Red is a footnote in the X-Men mythos so to have a Funko representation of him is always appreciated.
Until Next Time!
