Yeah! The moment she was announced, I got pretty excited! Let's dive right into the review of this POP, shall we?

Marvel Rival waves come in small batches. This particular wave only has a total of three, plus the blue variant.

Funny that I just learned there’s a Psylocke variant named “Sai” who has none of the convoluted backstory of Betsy or Kwannon. Marvel Rivals decided to run with that, and you know what — I’m not mad at it! Psylocke is Psylocke, and she’ll always be that psychic kunoichi we’ve adored for a long time. It helps that she gets a new costume that pays homage to her classic look while also checking all the boxes for what she really is: a badass ninja. This particular outfit does it perfectly. Rivals amps up the appeal with gauntlets, boots, and that lower body piece that screams fictional-mainstream kunoichi aesthetics. The scarf and katana tie it all together, but underneath it all, she still has that familiar Psylocke vibe. Funko sculpted all those details really well — you can definitely recognize this version of Psylocke right away. Her hair is styled exactly like in the game, and even the katana has that distinct “butterfly” hilt — a symbol that’s become synonymous with her.

One would think Sai would get a lot of acrobatic, dynamic poses, but Funko went with a safe bet. It’s not a bad pose at all, and it’s taken straight from the game, so I’m not mad about it. Could she have had a cooler pose? Absolutely! But this one still lets you appreciate all the details on the figure. Though if they really wanted to match the in-game look, having the scarf over her mouth would’ve been a nice touch.

Psylocke’s main colors are blue, purple, and a hint of red. For this version of the psychic ninja, they added a bit more to her palette — some black on the armor pieces, white on her top, and small hints of gold. Honestly, the paint job is pretty clean and accurate to her in-game counterpart!

That's my first POP of Psylocke, and it's a pretty old one. I do prefer Sai more, truth be told!

Sai next to her other Marvel Rivals peers. I swear, man, they'd better add others to really make this lineup glow!
POP: Marvel Rivals

Sai has her own comic book design, and it's pretty similar to her Rivals outfit. I really do like this version of Psylocke. Going to try to read more about her.

Marvel Rivals continues to kill it with their fresh takes on classic Marvel characters. I also like how they went with a version of Psylocke that doesn’t need all the complicated backstory. The POP is well sculpted, has a decent pose, and the colors are vibrant and spot-on. An easy recommendation for anyone playing the game or who’s a big Psylocke fan!
Until Next Time!
