Oh yeah! A Symbiote Spidey getting added to my POP collection! It's a Peter Parker/Blacky Symbiote Spider-Man hybrid; a gimmicked POP that I am familiar with! So without further ado, let's get on with the review, shall we?

Yes, this is a Funko exclusive. Not sure if I'm going to get Cap and Logan, but for now, the Spideys are definitely a must.

I believe I've made it quite clear how much I love the Symbiote Spider-Man look. The sleek look, along with the bold white contrasts, does a lot to make the idea of "simplicity is genius". For this particular POP, however, it's got a bit more intricacies since it is a 'split image' of Peter Parker and his Black Symbiote suit. I'm impressed with how they managed to do the split--Parker's civilian clothes have a bit more since it's clothing with a layered vest, a button-up, tie, slacks, and shoes. They managed to get the wrinkles, the details of his camera, all the while it transitions effortlessly to his symbiote suit. Honestly, this works well more than the others on this POP series since the symbiote does transform into normal clothing.

The pose is pretty simple, and it fits for the gimmick of this POP. Nothing grand or dynamic, and no complaints from me. Though, would like to see what Funko can do with a very action pose with this gimmick.

The colors are also well done. The transition between Spidey and Parker is almost clean, with some spots showing some colors bleeding over, but all in all the clothes look good, the Spidey side is just one color, but the white Spider-Logo, the eyes, and the mark on the top of his hand are executed with precision. Can't complain.

Yes, I had to have both of them. Funny how both Parkers are wearing the same clothes but just colored differently. I love what they did with Symbiote Spidey, showcasing more of Peter's freelance work while Classic Spidey highlights Parker's passion for science.

Of course! Right next to the most recent Symbiote Spider-Man POP. Almost consistent with each other, albeit the split Parker/Spidey has a smaller Spider logo.

Funny enough, I don't have a standard Venom POP. Must be time, eh? However, when placed next to each other, they look good. Shows the size difference between the two.
POP: Symbiote & Parker

The gimmick with this series is something I got behind. Again, not sure if I'll fork up for Captain America and Wolverine, but the two Spideys were a must. And while I'm on the hunt for Spider-Man POPs (and anyone related to) to complete my Spiderverse collection, I will say that without bias, I love how the gimmick was pulled out with the transition between Parker and Spidey is almost seamless. Yes, some color bleeding, and yes, not as dynamic of a pose, but hey, it works! Recommend? Yes. A must? Maybe. Depends on your appetite for POP gimmicks and Spider-Man POPs.
Until Next Time!
