Funko POP: Spider-Man (Symbiote Suit)

Not going to go down quietly before 2025 comes in. This is actually one of the POPs I've been excited for a Symbiote Spidey POP for some time now and this one checks all the boxes I want in a Black Suit Spider-Man. So with that said, let's check out this POP, shall we?

This is actually a pretty good set. I have the Fear Itself and standard Spidey POP with a few quirks!

Clearly, he is a bobblehead

The story of the Symbiote Spidey is a well-known origin story. Secret Wars tore Spidey's suit, Paker activated the wrong machine, released the symbiote, and latched on to Spidey. I'm sure some retcon added reasons why the Symbiote was imprisoned in the machine, but the main thing is that we got this sleek, simple, and iconic suit for our favorite Wall Crawler. The POP gets it and it's all about the way he is posed rather than the fancy sculpting all over him. Truth to be told, he doesn't have a whole lot going on with sculpting details other than the mold of his body, the webbing coming out of his hand, and the way he is posed--it's all perfect.

I love how they got the hand gesture correct! Symbiote Spidey doesn't do the thwip hand--Black Suit Spidey does. There's a difference.

I love that pose though. But as usual, with stands that include a character midair, part of the plastic is going to pierce through the back--for this case, it covers some of the spider emblem.

There's not much to say about the coloring and the paint. I love the gloss on the black, the white areas such as the logo, the squares on his hand, and his eyes--all done well. No complaints here. Well executed.

It's funny how the Amazing Spider-Man is the most classic Spidey I have. Maybe I should try and get a classic Spider-Man POP one of these days.

Comic Book vs Gamerverse. Obviously, the Spidey 2 has a lot more going on.

And then there's these two! I feel the logo on Venom is a bit too small but all in all, these two are a good mirror of each other.

I love this POP. The pose is perfect for this Spider-Man. The colors are clean! I know, I'm biased since this is probably my favorite Spidey suit but, hey, Funko did a good job and I can appreciate the release of a Symbiote Spider-Man from the comics without any extra shenanigans. Just a good ole plain POP! Simple.
