Funko POP: Makima (Hand Signs)

I didn’t expect to get another Makima POP, but this one was given to me as a gift, and I’m pretty excited to have her. Makima is probably my second favorite character in Chainsaw Man, so getting another POP of her isn’t something I’m going to frown upon. With that said, let’s get to the review, shall we?

This is a special edition Makima, so technically, she's not included in the previous wave.

This one is fairly similar to my first Makima POP. The main difference is the placement of her arms and the hand gesture, which ties into her powers. In the anime, she does this exact motion when she’s controlling people — fingers interlaced in front of her, calm and composed. The sculpt captures that well. Her attire is the usual office look: white button-up, black tie, dark pants, and those brown shoes. The hair is sculpted the same as the other one, with the bangs and the braid in the back. Overall, it works fine as a POP. Nothing overly detailed, but it gets her look across.

Again, pretty much the same as the other POP (you can see both side by side in the last picture). The difference is all in the hands. She’s standing still with that specific gesture, which makes sense for the moment. It’s a standard standing pose, and nothing’s wrong with it — it just relies on the hand position to sell the scene.

I really like how they keep giving these POPs the characters’ unique eye colors. For Makima, those gold eyes are a must, and they look good here. The rest of the figure is clean — white shirt, black tie and pants, brown shoes, pinkish-red hair. No paint defects on my copy. No complaints.

Pretty consistent between these two. I can almost bet that it's the same head sculpt throughout!

The three lineup of POPs I own. That Power has got a leaning problem though, but despite that, Makima looks good right next to them!
POPs: The Conquest Devil & Minions

This isn’t a necessary POP if you already bought the other one. They’re similar enough that owning both isn’t required. That said, if I had to choose between the two, I’d pick this one. The hand gesture is a moment every Makima fan will remember, and it gives the figure a little more character than just standing there. It’s a nice gift and a solid version of her, even if it’s not essential for most collectors.
Until Next Time!
