We got another Pokémon POP coming in the lineup! Another soft color version, too! Squirtle looks so adorable, so let's just go ahead and check out the POP, shall we?

Of course, a special version of Squirtle means he's the only one on this wave--kind of. I've made it my mission to get every one of these for my special friend!

All of these soft colors are so cute! The first form Pokemons truly are adorable factors, I swear. Rereleasing this mold and just repainting it might be a money-grabbing move, but truth to be told, some practices like this I hardly mind. The sculpt is just fine, and it looks like the Pokémon, so that's always a plus!

Squirtle doesn't exactly have the most dynamic pose for this POP. But like the original, it does the job of showcasing the adorableness.

The theme of this series is all about the softer tone used. Squirtle's skin is more of a pastel blue and his shell isn't the vibrant red. Softening the colors and making them the matted and pastel look is something more for that kind of mood, then this is absolutely fitting. The pain execution is good with very few obvious defects, so there's no complaint.

The original isn't that old, so there's not a lot of difference with modern-day Pokémon POP in terms of details. Next to his soft color, the contrast is nice.

Fire and water! The soft colors of POP: Charmander next to POP: Squirtle will always be a welcome juxtaposition.

For the majority, this might be an easy pass. Even Pokémon fans may not see the value of getting this, especially when the OG versions are more than good enough. Still, as a niche collection for my special friend, I had to get this one. And believe me, there's more. All in all, as a POP, the sculpt is as good as the original, and the colors are well done. It's a POP that does everything safely, and that's good enough for me.
Until Next Time!
