Funko POP: Vegeta

It's crazy how this POP is twelve years old, and I only got him early this year. Then again, it was only 2025 when I started my Dragon Ball POP collection hardcore. With that said, let's review this older POP, shall we?

One can just look at the characters and their posture, and one can immediately tell that this is an older wave. Definitely something in the history books.

Vegeta was ruthless when he first appeared in the Dragon Ball universe. As the main villain of the Saiyan Saga, he gave Goku and the Z Fighters a serious run for their money.
He showed up in that classic Saiyan armor (courtesy of Frieza, of course), complete with the scouter and his tail wrapped around his waist. Of course, he’s also rocking that iconic hair we all know and love. All of these elements are captured nicely on this POP. Even though it’s an older figure, the attention to detail is still there, and you can really appreciate the effort to make it as accurate as possible. The standout piece is definitely the scouter — something we won’t see on future Vegeta POPs for obvious reasons.
While the signature Vegeta hair isn’t as pronounced as on newer releases, it still looks good enough to represent the Prince of all Saiyans.

The pose is definitely one of this POP's winning qualities. It's another signature Vegeta pose: arms crossed in front while standing tall, looking as imposing as possible. Once again, the sculpting is still good enough even twelve years later. Sure, later Vegeta POPs get more intricate in the poses they give Vegeta--but this is definitely good enough.

Vegeta’s colors are a bit more vibrant on this POP, with bright yellow added to his classic blue-and-white Saiyan armor. It definitely captures that early Saiyan Saga look accurately, and there aren’t many paint defects to speak of. The scouter is colored well, too, and I really like the transparent plastic they used for the eyepiece. I would’ve loved a decal with the “9000” on the screen, but I can’t complain too much.
Though… would this make a good meme POP?

While it doesn’t really capture Vegeta’s usual arrogant scowl, it’s still pretty close for Funko POP standards.

A few years after this, Vegeta POP came out, we started getting Super Saiyan versions of the Prince. You can clearly see that later releases captured his signature hair much more accurately, and they also became a bit more intricate with the poses, as I mentioned earlier

Future forms of Vegeta are represented well, too! From both a character and POP standpoint, the SSJ4 and SSG Vegetas look awesome displayed next to this classic base Vegeta.

Is this a must-have POP for Vegeta fans? I’m leaning toward yes, mostly because of the important footnote it represents in his character history.
It perfectly captures that classic early Saiyan Saga look, complete with the signature pose and the iconic scouter — a reminder of Vegeta’s time before he became one of the good guys. Plus, it’s solid meme territory, so there’s that. Even though it’s a bit outdated and has been surpassed by newer releases, I’m still really happy to have this one in my collection.
Until Next Time!
