Yes, a POP Rides. It's been a bit since I got one of these, and truth be told, this isn't mine. This was gifted to me to give, so I decided to review him real quick. So let's get right into the review, shall we?

I really don’t know anything about this character. I know the legend of Moby Dick, so I can kind of piece together what this is about.

So… question though: Is Moby Dick in this anime just a skull and bones used as a ship? Interesting.

Whitebeard’s design is pure One Piece style, no doubt about it. His sculpt is filled with details that are as accurate as can be to the anime. I especially love the wrinkles on his clothing — they give him a really organic, lived-in look. The decor on his shoulder pads and that giant cape help give Whitebeard an imposing presence. This POP really captures his aura well.

Now, since this is a POP Rides, Whitebeard comes with his ship, the Moby Dick. Of course, the proportions aren’t accurate, and Whitebeard towers over the ship, but we all know that’s just part of the POP Rides gimmick, right? Even so, there’s plenty to admire in the little details on the ship. The whale skull is prominently displayed at the front, while the rest of the vessel has all the classic pirate ship elements — sails, deck, and everything in between. It looks really good. I especially love how Whitebeard is standing tall at the front, radiating that commanding presence.

The little flags on the ship are a nice touch. The sails and all the small details throughout are really well done. There’s a lot packed into this POP Ride, and I’m sure any One Piece fan would appreciate it even more.

The colors are vibrant and cleanly done. I really love the ocean base that doubles as the stand — it’s nicely painted with a glossy finish, as if it’s reflecting sunlight. One small thing you can’t really see with the way Whitebeard is posed is the decoration on his cape, but it looks nicely done, too. All in all, no complaints from me here.

Yes, pretty accurate as can be.

It’s a good POP. As I’ve mentioned, I know very little about this anime and Whitebeard, but I will say the design and the idea of the Moby Dick being his ship is pretty interesting. Funko took those concepts and translated them well into POP form. All in all, it’s nicely done.

Until Next Time!
