Kaitlin's Front Page: &#AI*@(!!

Updated: Dec 6, 2024

That's bizarre but somewhat convincing.

I know I'm not the biggest advocate of AI art but I am intrigued with what they can do with certain things. And I know that this episode of VR Troopers gets a lot of love from me. How can it not? At any rate, let's see how AI art has advanced, shall we?

I'm aware this makes no sense since it's before she gets captured but.... it turned out really well, right?

Let's make it even more ridiculous by giving Kaitlin a thick mainstream OTM gag! Yeah, complain away, Ms. Star!

I'm not going to sit here and say it's perfect. The Uncanny Valley is present but, it's got some things right.

Ah yes! What if Kaitlin had a gag and we managed to get a close-up, right? I know it's a very mainstream tape gag, but come on! We take what we can!

Hey, Sarah, we already know it's a trap! Need you to take it easy with your lines so here's a gag! That and Kaitlin deserve to not say anything for a bit, right?

Now that's a very mainstream-looking gag but I still think this would've been appreciated in the show!

This is one of my favorite segments showing Kaitlin's predicament. Adding a gag would've made for some fantastic gag-talk onscreen. Welps, AI fixed that, eh? Look, she gets a cloth and a tape gag. Both VERY 'prop-gag' look but giving Kaitlin some kind of gag would've done wonders.

Someon's exhausted. Kaitlin looks really defeated here.

This was the moment that she needed to be gagged. Whatever she had to say didn't add to her teammates' victory. Grimlord's drones are powerful? So is your gag, Kaitlin.

My head canon: Deborah wanted to see what gag would look better for the episode so Kaitlin was gagged with different methods and each scene was reshot and taken from the top. Everyone had to do their parts again. The star of the episode (Kaitlin, of course), got the most attention.

I know! She doesn't have a gag! But I don't mind a prolonged moment.

There you go! That's how it's done!

Not sure how many more I'm going to do of these but it just works out so well, doesn't it? Kaitlin needed a gag to add more spice to an already special moment of Kaitlin Star.

I like the idea of a very cartoony, giant gag. It looks tight, too! Kaitlin looks so dejected and anxious.

Seems like that gag is tight and it's causing her face to be distorted with how tight it is.

Now there are some instance where the moving gif of this AI program does some weird(er) stuff. The movements either don't make sense or some weird other person pops up to apply the gag in a weird way... or maybe Kaitlin gets blue eyes... something. But there are some good stills and these next few are the result of that.

Certain angles on the pics above can be more convincing than others. However, the Skugs decided to give her shiny silver duct tape to gag her... which I don't think anyone is opposed to. Kaitlin did talk too much during her captivity.

This portion looks like either Sarah is being critiqued by the director or Kaitlin getting taunted by her captor. It's strange how much AI can alter things and make them look somewhat believable.

This is my favorite of all the Kaitlin tied-up segments. The wrap-around tape gag looks convincing. Some things seem off here and there, but it's not too obvious. It does look like she's uncomfortable, and the upper body movement looks smooth. The legs could have a bit more squirming, but I'll take it.

Some quick rigging from those Ninja-Skugs

Now, this is a little bonus that somewhat works. Just call it virtual Skug magic that gets Kaitlin tied up and gagged. It's a shame she's missing her suspenders, though. But it's not too bad. I'm telling you, we keep up with this, and we're going to be getting a rendition of Kaitlin from "Oh, Brother" getting her moment while wearing that outfit.

The gag is slipping, I'm aware. But that looks pretty darn good.

This app I'm using has potential. It created some more than passable moments that I've thought about in my head (I know, I'm obsessed with this). I'm going to continue working on things and hopefully, I can get a hold of its volatile nature. Once I can get that down, we're going to have more of these in the future.

But let me just point out that AI art will never replace my love to supporting other artists! Commissions will always be a thing.

Until Next Time!
