The Demon Slayer movie that came out last year was unexpectedly good! One of the MVPs of that movie was Akaza! Had to get a POP of him, and here we are with said POP. Let's review it real quick, and I'll have some words to say after. So, here we go!

This is a pretty decent set. Funny enough, I might actually have this entire wave.

Not a bobblehead
Not a bobblehead

Like all demons from Demon Slayer, Akaza has a pretty unique design that can feel jarring if you're more into simplicity than chaotic energy. A lot of it comes down to the wild color scheme—those thick blue tattoo-like lines across his pale skin, the bright pink fluffy hair, and those striking yellow eyes with cracked blue sclera—but his outfit brings its own flair too. He's got the short, open sleeveless haori vest exposing his chest, the baggy white pants rolled up at the knees with a rope belt, and those dangling pink tassels, plus the signature chains of large red pearls around his ankles. The accessories and details really stand out on this POP figure, and the hair sculpt is spot-on, too. All in all, it's a super accurate recreation of his anime look with no complaints from me. The paint apps and detailing on this one are pretty awesome.

His pose is pretty good! That dynamic fighting stance really captures his aggressive vibe, and the fact that the figure's stand has a snowflake pattern is spot-on—it perfectly nods to his Destructive Death: Blue Silver Chaotic Afterglow technique and those iconic snowflake attacks. There's really not much else to say other than I'm fully satisfied with what this POP is trying to do.

The colors on this Akaza POP are spot-on and really pop—the vibrant pink hair, those striking blue markings across his pale skin, the yellow eyes with the cracked sclera, and the red accents all capture his demonic look perfectly. The paint apps do a great job overall, especially on the intricate jewelry (those pearl chains), his sash, and the blue tattoo-like lines that make him instantly recognizable.

That said, there are a couple of opportunities for improvement in the hairline: some white paint is bleeding into the red/pink hair, which is pretty noticeable up close and stands out against the bold colors. Beyond that little defect, though, everything else—the fine details on the markings, the accessories, and the overall shading—is handled really well. I'm more than willing to look past the minor imperfection because the rest shines through.

The kanji on his eyes stands out so much. Just his overall coloring and design look good altogether.

Both these POPs have a lot going on with them. Sure, this POP of Daki has more 'accessories,' but in terms of accuracy and designs, they both deliver.

As an overall POP of Akaza, this one really delivers. Sure, there's a QC issue on the hairline with my copy—the white bleeding into the pink/red hair—, but I'd say I'm way more grateful than disappointed. The figure nails the look, pose, and those thoughtful details like the snowflake stand.

My only main gripe is that I kinda wish I'd waited for the most recent announced Akaza POP—the one with the more dynamic jump kick pose. Would I end up owning two Akaza POPs? Guess we'll see. Can't lie, though—I still really like this one.

Until Next Time!
