Funko POP: Spider-Man (BND / Metallic) - Funko.Com exclusive

I don’t say much about the MCU these days. I watch some of the projects here and there, enjoy most of them, and then move on. Then a POP comes around and somehow I end up talking about the movie after all. For this Brand New Day Spider-Man POP, I want to do a solid review while also sharing how much I loved the movie — though it’ll still be mostly POP talk. So let’s get into it, shall we?

Funny enough, there aren't that many POPs in this wave I want. Not a lot of Spider-Man; as of writing this post, there are only four.

I’ve always complained that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man never fully felt like Spider-Man — from the suits to the overall feel of his story arcs. I’ve said many times that he just came across as an Iron Man protégé, and I used to call him “Spider-Boy.” A lot of that angst faded as I got older, especially after No Way Home, and now we have Brand New Day. It was such a great movie. The tone, the story arcs, the fight scenes, and best of all — the suit!
They took the best elements from the 2000s Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man, and classic comic-book Spidey and combined them into one awesome MCU suit. It’s a proper Spider-Man outfit through and through, with expressive eyes, a unique and cool spider logo, and a slightly different take on the web-shooters compared to what we’ve seen over the years. It’s a really good-looking suit, and it translated well into POP form. We all know Funko has Spider-Man down to a science, and giving him a basic-but-new suit was pretty much a guaranteed win.

I like how he is posed! Webslinging all about while his webs are all over him. This movie did a lot to try and make Tom Holland's Spider-Man feel and look like Spider-Man, and this POP is a testament to that.

There’s a base version of this POP that doesn’t have the metallic, shiny paint. I opted for this one because I really liked the red and blue they chose along with that glossy finish. The paint job is well executed, and my copy has no defects or scuffs. Just a clean, good-looking POP.

Both are classic-looking Spider-Men, but vanilla Spidey looks a bit underdressed compared to this BND Spidey POP.

I'd say these three look amazing next to each other!

Shame we never got to see the NWH epilogue suit get any screen time in BND! But this new BND POP really makes the other two look outdated.

This Brand New Day Spider-Man is a solid addition to any Spider-Man collection. Between the improved suit design, the clean metallic paint, and the fact that it finally feels like a true Spider-Man, I’m really happy with it. If you’re a fan of the new movie or just love a classic-looking Spidey POP, this one’s an easy recommend. Glad to have him on the shelf!
Until Next Time!
