Funko POP: Cubone - Pokemon Center Exclusive

Another Pokémon for my Girlfriend to add to her collection! It's pretty obvious that if a Pokémon POP finds its way here, it's for my lovely friend! Regardless of that, I do get excited about reviewing these things, so let's get to it, shall we?
Yes, the box got completely mangled on the way here. It's a shame too, since the box has this pearl glow to it like the POP. Well, at least the POP itself was fine.
Cubone is just a tragic Pokémon. If the legend is true and every Cubone has to wear their mother’s skull over their head, then yeah… it’s completely heartbreaking. Funko made sure to capture a bit of that sadness in this POP, with all the sculpt details we’d expect. As grim as it sounds, the skull helmet has some nice little details — cracks and texture that make it look worn — and it sits perfectly on Cubone’s head. Everything else is pretty basic, but it’s still up to Funko’s usual standards. No complaints!
A very simple pose and nothing too grand. Cubone has a neutral pose, with the bone weapon in his paw, allowing collectors to see all the fine details of this tragic Pokemon.
The colors are what really make this POP stand out. It has a pearlescent coating that gives it a unique, almost glowing look. While the colors stay accurate to the games and anime, that extra layer of special paint adds a nice flair, and we love it. The paint application is clean and well done.
Despite being a tragic helmet, it's a cute look for him.

All in all, this is a nice-looking POP and one my girlfriend had been wanting for a while. It’s got an accurate sculpt, a solid paint job with that shiny coat, and of course Cubone’s tragic story behind it. Awesome little figure. No real complaints. Even with the condition of the box, I’d still recommend it without hesitation.
