Black Cat, aka Felicia Hardy, is a character I am familiar with. As a long-time fan of Spidey, how can I not know about Marvel's Catwoman?

You know, that Spider-Man really must be in my collection. I did watch the Spider-Man Animated Series way back when.

She's a bobblehead

Black Cat from Spider-Man: The Animated Series wasn’t too far off from her comic book counterpart when it comes to appearance (we’ll leave story and powers out of the discussion). Of course, she was a bit less… liberal with what she showed, and she wasn’t doing nearly half the things she did in the comics. Still, she looked awesome—and her POP looks amazing and very accurate to the version it’s based on.

The fur on her gloves and boots is all present, the sculpted mask around her eyes properly conceals her identity, and the flowing white hair is nicely done. She looks great as a POP.

Her pose is pretty simple but very spot-on and accurate to the character. While Felicia can be more dynamic and acrobatic, a calm, sauntering stance feels just right here. The way Black Cat is standing lets you see all the sculpted details clearly, and all in all, it’s not a bad pose at all.

Felicia Hardy’s color scheme is a simple one: black, white, and a touch of skin tone. With a palette this minimal, the paint application has to be done well to really pull it off—and luckily, this Black Cat POP delivers.

While there are a few paint imperfections on her mask, everything else is cleanly executed. The white of her hair is a slightly different shade from her gloves and fur, which adds a nice bit of contrast. The black has a subtle shine that works perfectly with the tight bodysuit look. No real complaints here.

The piece of jewelry Black Cat is holding looks a bit plain. Felicia also has her signature collar, and it looks good—definitely accurate to her TAS version.

While Parker isn't the TAS Spider-Man POPs, these two do look good next to each other.

This was a missed opportunity! Seeing these two together in The Animated Series would’ve been great. The Symbiote Spidey from that one episode interacting with Felicia’s animated version would’ve been such a treat.

I wonder how these two would interact? I'm sure it'll happen one day. That said, these two POPs look good next to each other!

I love how both of these are posed. If they were proportioned, they'd look awesome! Still, POP Black Cat and Bishoujo Black Cat just want to steal your shiny jewels! Be very, very careful around them.

While TAS Black Cat isn’t my favorite version of Felicia Hardy, this POP of her is still a solid addition to my Spider-Man collection. She’s not very complex—simple and pretty run-of-the-mill—but all in all, she’s well done. For having only three main colors to work with, she turns out to be a spectacular POP.

I’d definitely call her a must-have. Now I just need that Spider-Man: The Animated Series Spider-Man to complete the set.

Until Next Time!
