Another obscure Disney Princess that deserves more attention than she is getting! Princess Kida is one of those Princesses that Disney isn't doing much to put into the limelight. But, hey, she got a POP, so that's something, right? Let's go ahead and review this, shall we?

If I was an Atlantis fan, I'd be both happy and disappointed at this. Just two?! But hey, it's the main two, so that's something.

Kida is definitely one of those Disney Princesses who didn’t become as popular as characters like Belle, Jasmine, or Ariel. I’ll be honest—I haven’t even watched Atlantis beyond a few small scenes, so I can’t really say whether her movie is that good. I do know it has a cult following, and Kida herself has popped up in some of my fandom spaces. Now here she is with her own Funko POP.
This figure is pretty accurate to Kida’s animated design. Her clothing, minimal as it is, retains the same patterns and the way it adorns her body. Her hairstyle is accurate to how she appears in the film, and the staff-like object she carries is also included. It’s a really good-looking POP despite its simplicity.

Kida’s pose is pretty simple. She’s standing in a neutral stance with her staff (or spear?) in hand, so there isn’t a lot of dynamism in the POP—and honestly, that’s fine.

Kida’s colors have a few glaring issues. The white paint on her hair bleeds over, creating an obvious misalignment where it meets her brown skin. It’s a shame, too, because I really like Kida’s color scheme, which is mostly done right. The bright tones of her outfit and the tribal paint contrast beautifully against everything else. Again, it’s just unfortunate about the hair.

Warrior Princesses that never get the appreciation they deserve. Funny how all their POPs are pretty decent.
POP: Obscure Disney Princesses

My special friend wanted Kida, so she got her. A must for me? Not really—but she’s a good addition. I don’t think I would’ve gone out of my way to get her, but all in all, it’s a solid POP. Just be careful of potential paint defects. She’s pretty accurate, well sculpted, and a good figure overall.
Until Next Time!
