Funko POP: Shock (The Nightmare Before Christmas) "Glows in the Dark"

Yes, another one from The Nightmare Before Christmas! It is Spooky Season, so it only makes sense that the POPs lean into the theme. Basically, don’t be Shocked. Anyway, let’s review this POP.

Shock is part of a good set. We are looking for a Sally, so this set might provide!

It’s pretty easy to see that Shock is a witch — a devious little creature who’s always in the Halloween spirit. Her design is fairly simple, and her POP does exactly what it’s meant to do: give us a disproportionate humanoid with a creepy face, a mask, and a witch hat. Again, simple, but the accuracy and execution are what really matter. I’m happy with how Shock turned out sculpt-wise.

This little witch is holding her mask with a grin on her face. It's a perfectly fine pose for this character!

The color scheme for Shock is a little unorthodox. She’s not your typical witch who wears all black with hints of purple. Quite the opposite. Shock has blue hair, pale skin, and a dull pink shade for her clothing. It stands out more than I expected once she’s in front of you.

I do love the glow-in-the-dark. It looks really good, and both the mask and her skin have a nice vibrant glow to them.

This is a solid little Halloween POP. The sculpt is accurate enough for Shock, the colors are more interesting than a standard black-and-purple witch would be, and the glow adds something extra for the shelf. Not the biggest name from the movie, but she still looks the part, and the glow version makes her more fun to display. Easy enough recommendation if you’re filling out the Nightmare Before Christmas crew for the season.
Until Next Time!
