Yes, this movie! I had a fun time watching this movie. It definitely hit me differently than I thought it would. It was a lot of nerdgasm (for lack of a better word). And while it didn't stick to the comic accuracy 100%, it had a lot of great things. So is Shalla-Bal a good choice rather than Norin? Well, let's just talk about the POP. Let's go.

Very retro-looking box, and I love it. It's the theme of the entire movie anyway, a retro-future looking world.

Shalla-Bal was a Silver Surfer at one point in a multiverse story (Earth X). I'm sure that at one point, she was also a Herald, so this isn't a big surprise to me. I would've preferred Norin, but it's Silver Surfer, so we're all good. Her POP won't have all the intricate details in the world. She is, after all, just a humanoid, bare flesh but covered in metallic silver. The hair is present, and it looks accurate; her surfboard is there, all in all, there really isn't much to say against the sculpt work. She looks accurate to her movie counterpart.

I love her pose. Very much what a Silver Surfer would be doing. Shalla-Bal does give the impression that she's flying through space in a cosmic surfboard. She's not entirely elevated off the ground, which is a nice touch since I've always come across hovering characters lifted off the ground with the stand. I'm not opposed to that look, but it's nice to get some variation. All in all, she's posed well.

Colors are also impressive. The Silver Surfer looks metallic, shiny, and as she should look in her plastic form. We've had metallic POPs before where the paint looks good but may be a bit overdone. Shalla-Bal is painted where we know that she's a humanoid life form that is coated with some kind of cosmic metal. She looks good, and for a character with very little variation in color, the paint does the job to the shadowing and lighting effect, which is always nice.

Can't imagine how these two would interact, eh? Shalla-Bal is a very serious no-nonsense character while Galacta is such the opposite.

The canonical Devourer of Worlds and his Herald from Earth-828. They both look absolutely amazing together!
POP: Devourers

An easy recommendation for those who enjoyed the Silver Surfer's appearance in the movie. While she didn't do half as much as I thought she should do, she still represented what a Silver Surfer could look like in live action. Her POP is well done from the sculpt and the colors, so it's a POP my special friend and I enjoyed.
Until Next Time!
