Funko POP: Venusaur - Premium

The final evolution of our favorite plant-based OG Pokémon! This is the second complete evolution my girlfriend owns, and believe me, I want her to finish evolutions, so without further ado, let's go check out Venusaur!

This Premium POP is definitely one for Pokémon collectors.

Not a bobblehead

Unlike the regular Charizard POP my girlfriend owns, Venusaur is a Premium POP. That means he doesn’t come alone — he includes a base and extra details. Venusaur is standing on a wood-like patch of land with vines protruding all around him, giving off a strong “king of the jungle” vibe. The details are really nice and help sell that presence. As for Venusaur himself, he’s accurately sculpted with that familiar face and slightly more feral-looking head. Of course, the biggest evolution upgrade is the massive flower on his back along with longer, thicker vines. Overall, he looks exactly like the plant-based powerhouse we know and love.

He isn't doing anything dynamic or out of character. Venusaur is standing there, ready to fight, simple but imposing. The premium base actually carries a lot of the weight, which gives Venusaur this presence. I love it.

The colors on this figure are great! Every part is cleanly painted with accurate shades, making the whole piece look vibrant and truly premium. No complaints here.

Now that's a bulky-looking Pokémon. The details combined with the sharp coloring make this POP feel 'premium'.

Seeing the full evolution line next to each other is awesome, although the soft-colored Bulbasaur does look a bit jarring compared to the others. Maybe a slightly more faded tone on Ivysaur would have helped the transition. Still, I’m really glad my girlfriend has the full set now!

This Premium Venusaur is an awesome piece. While part of me wonders if a standard POP would’ve been better, this version has a lot of strong qualities that make it stand out. Easy recommendation for anyone wanting to complete the Bulbasaur evolution line. Great details, beautiful colors, and overall a big win!
