Ninja Batman

Updated: Mar 8, 2019

Wait, what? A ninja Batman? Yes! I've known about this for a while now and didn't really think much of it until I came across this today and decided to pick it up. Let me tell you something! This movie is actually pretty awesome. It's over the top, cliched, and very muddled with feudal Japan pop culture (samurais, shinobi, kunoichi, prophecies, etc), but look past that and you have yourself an awesome and fun Batman take. Also, the animation is pretty sharp and the action is as anime as they come, which I love! Check out the trailer.

Not yet convinced? Well, how about the idea that this seems like a continuation, or at least a twist from the Arkham universe? That on its own should be enough to spark some interest. You really see Batman in his Arkham universe suit, armored up, and of course, with his precious Batmobile. We also get a treat of seeing the likes of Catwoman, Nightwing, Red Robin, Robin, and of course, Batman himself, turned into Feudal Japan-Samurai-Ninja-like design, which are awesome within their own right. Oh, and this lovely gal:

Harley Quinn! She looks adorable, as always! And not to mention, a Harley vs Catwoman fight? I can't think of a few more fanservice within this realm! Of course, Joker and other villains of Batman (Penguin, Poison Ivy, Deathstroke, Twoface, Bane, just to name some) get their own makeover and they're pretty outrageous as they are awesome.

It's easy to say that this take on #Batman is not for everyone. Even if the designs and the idea seems interesting, the style of the story telling and the animation may not prove to be for the mainstream and/or casual fans of Batman, but for those who can get into it, I do believe there is an awesome experience that only this animated movie can offer. I can honestly say that I recommend it. Hopefully we see more of this at some point, or at the very least, we get some cool merchandise!

Until Next Time!
