S.H. Figuarts: Vegeta (SSJ)

Yes, an S.H. Figuarts for 2026! An articulated figure! This is actually an older release that my girlfriend gifted me some time back. I’m just now getting around to reviewing it, and I’m pretty excited to talk about a line of figures I haven’t dabbled in for a while. So let’s get into it, shall we?
Standard import boxes with nice promotional pictures of the figure. Also some good ideas to try and replicate for someone like me who isn't too big into exploring a bajillion poses--I know, I'm not that kind of collector anymore.
These are the various accessories that come with this guy: an eight-pair of hands, a right 'thumbs up', and folded arms. As far as faces, he gets three. Some special effects for ki and powering up would've elevated this Figuarts Vegeta a bit more.
For interchangeable faces, we get a yelling/angry expression, a smirking face, and a very serious angry one. Vegeta isn’t exactly known for a wide range of expressions when it comes to anything remotely happy or jovial — but these faces are very fitting for the Prince of all Saiyans.
For me, Vegeta’s best look is this outfit right here — the one made famous during the Cell Saga. It’s still Saiyan armor, but it lacks the pauldrons and has a more lightweight feel. Vegeta’s stature has always looked muscular and in-shape, sometimes a bit bulky during SSJ Grade 2, but this body type is exactly how I picture him. And of course, we can’t forget his signature hair — the pointier it is, the more it screams “Prince of all Saiyans.” This figure captures all of that aesthetic perfectly. The details are there, sculpted in every way from the wrinkles on his gloves and boots to the lining all over his armor.
Proportion-wise, he looks pretty good. Of course, as an articulated figure, there are some unnatural crevices and odd musculature here and there. It's nothing too bad, and for the most part, it can be 'hidden' when posing Vegeta. Vanilla pose like standing still exposes every bit of the joints and all the swivels. But overall, it looks like Vegeta.
Not a whole lot of color shading on Figuarts from what I’ve experienced in the past, but the colors picked here are pretty sharp and give this action figure some nice depth. There’s a bit more shine to the blue tights on his body, while the armor, gloves, and boots have a more matte tone. The golden hair, though — that’s got a lot of shine to it! While there aren’t any special effects or anything like that, the vibrant golden color really implies he’s powered up. The colors are simple, but they look good, accurate, and I see no paint defects on my copy.
I'm no expert in articulating figures, but I was able to get Vegeta into some nice poses. Some of them I copied from the box, while some I just tried to remember Vegeta's famous poses. A shame that this figure didn't come with a figure stand to help recreate some of his flying poses like the one above.
I was able to recreate some classic Vegeta poses. The interchangeable hands along with the different faces truly mixed things up. I didn't have a hard time posing the joints, and for the most part, the figure doesn't look too unnatural. Sure, some special effects might've done it some more good, but at least he's pretty easy to pose--and looks good too!
He was fun to pose around, but I definitely feel that missing figure stands and special effects really did nerf the possibilities. But, again, had fun doing so.
Had to depend on Funko to give this Final Flash pose some credibility. Right next to the Final Flash POP of Vegeta, it looks great!
Now I know why they didn't and can't add the electricity around him as this POP Vegeta has: this is only SSJ Vegeta.
A flying pose like the SSG Vegeta has is harder to do since the articulation on Vegeta's neck won't naturally go that way. Still, I was able to give some flying pose similar to Vegeta's POP version.
I won’t go out and get too many collectibles like what S.H. Figuarts offers. This was a gift from my girlfriend — and since it’s Vegeta, it fits right into my collection. Can I recommend it? Absolutely. It’s missing certain things that could elevate it to the next level, but the articulation is solid, the details are accurate, and the colors are sharp. I definitely appreciate having this one in my collection.
