Funko POP: Elements/Power-Up

Another POP Elements in my collection! This time around, it's the 'power-up' version, and this works with a handful of my POPs. So without further ado, let's go ahead and jump into the review, shall we?

As I mentioned in my Elements/Lightning review, these POP accessories are an awesome idea. They can take regular commons and elevate them to the next level, or perfectly complement a POP that already has a lot of built-in special effects.

The Power-Up element is very synonymous with a particular set of characters — we’ll get to that in the upcoming reviews. I’m also loving the box design. This one goes with a bold orange color scheme, as opposed to the light blue that the Lightning version has.

The three-piece gimmick seems to be the standard pattern, and I’m totally okay with it. The main backdrop piece looks really good — it has energy spiking upward with floating rocks, giving off that familiar aesthetic that screams “perfect for Saiyans and the like.”

The two smaller pieces look similar but aren’t symmetrical at all, which is actually a good choice.

For some reason, this particular element just looks perfect next to a Vegeta POP who is about to throw a Final Flash. It's like it is truly meant for it!

Since it’s called “Power-Up,” Gohan and Goku fit the bill perfectly. I love all the energy surrounding them, along with the floating earth and rubble. For someone like the Great Saiyaman POP, which implies he’s powering up, this accessory truly makes the figure look amazing. Even the newer SSJ Goku that already has its own small special effect looks even better with it.

Captain Universe Spidey also looks great with the element. The cosmic energy emanating from his hands flows well with the energy of the Power-Up.

Going back to Dragon Ball characters, it’s also a great idea to mix the two smaller pieces from the Lightning Element to complement the SSJ2 energy lightning. The Power-Up Element backdrop flows really well when positioned correctly and paired with the right character. Not sure if it was intended, but it works perfectly in our favor.

Here are the two Elements I currently own right next to each other.

Ultraman doesn't exactly charge up like this, but it can show that his gigantic size is causing havoc all around him.

I definitely am behind these POP accessories. Certain POPs just get an extra boost of visual appeal if given something like an Element. The one downside is that having more than one of these to elevate every POP is costly. It would definitely add more dollars to an already expensive hobby. Still, photoshoots and reviews can have a bit more flavor, so I'm excited for future photo shoots!

Until Next Time!
