Funko POP: Gogeta (SSJ/Chase)

I had to get this version of Gogeta. I had one barrier: it's a Chase. I don't have the best luck when it comes to getting Chase versions of POPs. So I went through the 3rd market to snag Gogeta SSJ, and so here we are reviewing him. So let's get to it, shall we?

DragonBall Super: Broly wave has a couple of goodies. I got a couple already, but we'll leave it at that.

Not a bobblehead

From what I have come across with Chase variants, they are, more or less, mostly the same as the common ones, but a color might change, a mask may be off, they may hold something in their hand, or for some POPs, they're almost entirely different pieces. For Gogeta's sake, the Super Saiyan Chase comes with that classic gold/blonde hair & green eyes paint, and instead of just bare fists, SSJ Gogeta has a Ki-Blast charged up on his right hand. Not drastically different, but it's a noticeable change. The rest of the sculptwork remains the same in terms of quality, so I'm pretty happy about that.

My only complaint is that maybe the Ki could've had more of a transparent plastic or a more paint job to make it look more energetic.

Again, much like the base Gogeta, the pose remained the same. The change is the "Ki" on his right palm, which implies he is about to throw it.

As I mentioned, SSJ Gogeta gets new hair color and eyes for the SSJ transformation. The hair looks a bit brighter yellow than gold, which isn't bad, but as we'll see in the next pictures below, I feel that it should've been more gold. The Ki in his right palm could've been a bit more colored to make it look like energy, but that's just me nitpicking. All in all, the coloring looks solid and clean.

The two powerhouses of DragonBall doing the fusion dance and becoming Gogeta is one of my favorites. Also, I prefer the darker yellow/gold colors that these two, Goku and Vegeta, POPs to the yellow that SSJ Gogeta got.

The three Gogetas! Imagine if the movie produced a Gogeta God form. A red version of this would've been... accepted.

Is he a must? I'd say he is, since most Gogeta pictures before the Broly Super movie didn't show a base form of Gogeta. He's a chase, though, and trying to get this version might not be as easy, so off to a 3rpd party market you must go to get a guaranteed. I have some small qualms with the coloring, but all in all, it's a good POP. It's essentially the base form of Gogeta, with recoloring and an added ki blast. A good POP and a great addition to my growing Dragonball POPs.
