Ultraman! Yeah, this guy was a staple in my childhood memories. Ultraman, along with Shaider and Bioman, were my introduction to Power Rangers-like. I hope to get POPs of those older shows one day, along with the other Power Rangers cousins (VR Troopers and Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad). For now, I'm very excited to have an Ultraman POP! Let's get to the review, shall we?

Ultraman has seen a few POPs in the past. None of them I have, and I don't feel like I will be hunting for them anytime soon.

I remember listening to this theme music when I was young! Brings back memories!

Ultraman instantly takes me back to my Bioman and Shaider days. Those shows were something I tried to watch religiously as a kid, so seeing a brand-new Ultraman POP made me genuinely happy!

The design of Ultraman is as simple as it is vibrant and instantly recognizable. He doesn’t have a lot of intricate details or complex elements, but that simplicity is exactly what makes him so iconic. Luckily, Funko did our man justice.

I especially love the way his face and helmet were sculpted. Those signature glowing eyes really pop, and the classic fin on his head looks fantastic. It’s just an accurate and good-looking POP overall — the sculpt work on Ultraman is genuinely impressive!

They’ve got Ultraman posed in a solid fighting stance! It’s a really nice pose that perfectly pays homage to how he would square up against the giant monsters he faced.

The only other pose that would’ve been absolutely perfect is Ultraman firing off his iconic Ultra Beam!

The colors aren’t bad, and the paint execution is pretty good overall. I do wish the red was a bit darker, and the silver had a more metallic look, but it still clearly looks like Ultraman. So all in all, it gets the job done.

I just love how his helmet looks! Love how the eyes are just bulging out like bug eyes--very accurate to the source material!

As far as I know, this never happened before, but it's cool to have Ultraman and T-Rex Dinozord square up! It's a nice image!

I'm surprised Ultraman was never adopted the same way as the Zyurangers, Speilban, Ohranger, and Shaider were. Heck, even the Kamen Rider was adopted into a Power Ranger-like show. But I guess there was Gridman? Anyways, it's nice to see these POPs together, eh?

And, yes! That's Classic Ultraman!
And, yes! That's Classic Ultraman!

It's hard to believe that Ultraman had a run within Marvel Comics back in the early 2020s! Alex Ross even drew a cover!

Ultraman is one of those characters that still means a lot to me, even if this is the first piece of memorabilia I’ve ever owned from the classic show I used to watch way back when. This POP pays a nice homage to that nostalgia. It doesn’t break any boundaries as a figure, but it’s solid, simple, and most importantly, it’s an Ultraman POP in my collection. Recommend? Yes, absolutely.

Until Next Time!
