That's right! It's State of Play 2024, baby! There were a LOT of good things that came out of State of Play but FFVII Rebirth was the main show. I was super excited to see what they would reveal, and MAN did they show a lot. I won't be able to cover every nook and cranny of what they showed BUT, I can gloss over a few things. Let's take a look, shall we?
Character-wise, we've seen some familiar faces from the OG and new ones. This time around, we got a cutie from Crisis Core: Cissnei. I have to finish that game again, speaking of.
Is that Gilgamesh? Are we going to have more references from other Final Fantasies? I certainly hope so! At the very least, give us a FFVI reference.
Are these alternate outfits for the Costa Del Sol moment? Or can the lovely gals use this for fighting? I don't know, but one thing is certain: Tifa and Aerith got Red XIII flustered and he ain't even the same species!
SPEAKING of fighting! The gameplay looks insane! And it looks fun!
Still very much well in line with the previous FFVII-R installment, but definitely updated! There are now combination attacks that give a reason for the player to switch the characters out.
Then the story, of course. The character interactions, the moments, and the higher definition heart-wrenching-nostalgic moments. I'm going to love it! Even if there is that huge chance that everything we know and saw in the original will be altered.
But will they later THIS moment? OR....?
Luckily, we don't have to wait too long since the game comes out on February 29, 2024. Also, most of the things I very lightly glanced over are in the video above. Do check it out. Also, the demo is out too. Plenty of FF Rebirth content coming around the corner pretty fast. I'm playing through Remake now and hoping to finish that and Integrade before Rebirth comes out. Excited. Just right there!
