Gwen Stacy as Captain America? Perfect timing! It is July, after all! But does Ms. Stacy earn the right to be called the Star-Spangled Avenger? Well, I don't know, but let's at least take a look at her POP and see how it goes!

As I mentioned, this is a neat idea from a POP standpoint. We get to have more cool-looking POPs in our collection! I'm pretty sure there are more alternate Gwens other than the ones shown here, and I have this feeling that they're going to milk it--as long as the wave sells well, that is. We'll find out!

The idea of Gwen Stacy being the First Avenger breaks a lot of canon. Does it mean that Gwen Stacy was born during WWII? Did the Super-Solider program happen closer to modern times? So many questions. I'm not entirely privy to the story of these Multiverses, but one thing is certain: Cap-Gwen's design is something I like. The hooded jacket, stylized to fit the POP look, does well to give this version of Gwen that iconic hooded look. Love the way the wings for her head are sculpted. The googles under her hood are a nice touch, and everything else with this POP shows the little things like her pouches, her boots, her gloves, all done well. Of course, what is a Captain America-based character without the shield, right? That signature weapon looks great here and, honestly, if not the designs, it would look like a standard Cap shield and that's a great thing. All in all, the sculpting is amazing.

Cap-Gwen is not doing a whole lot in terms of pose, but it does look good. It's a stance that also allows us to appreciate the entirety of the POP.

Colors are spot on to the comic book version of her. The white is a dominant color, but the sprinkling of red and blue gives Cap-Gwen that patriotic feel! Honestly, the details with every line, every strap, and the pouch, her hair, they're all present and cleanly painted. There are some minor bleeds on her shield, but everything else is clean.

Like I said, the mishap on her shield is easy to see. I do love the spider decoration on her shield, along with the other designs on her shield.

Can't believe this is my only Captain America POP. This one doesn't even have his shield!

Imagine if the opposing figures of the Civil War were these two. I'm sure styles and principles would be one of the issues these two would be fighting for... against each other! All that aside, Cap-Gwen and Iron-Gwen look amazing right next to each other!

Talk about a Gwenverse, eh? Cap-Gwen next to the Gwen Stacy variant: Spider-Gwen and the Gwen Stacy herself! Amazing.

She's a good-looking POP whose main strength is the paint execution, the bright colors, and the overall idea of a Super Soldier Gwen Stacy. Recommend? Depends on how much you want to feed into focused Multiverses. Not sure if the Spider-Gwen train crashed Gwen Stacy's hype to oblivion, but a Captain America Gwen Stacy sounds ridiculous. That much I'll admit. HOWEVER, I love this POP. Just as a POP alone, there's a lot to appreciate. Besides, that Star-Spangled-Banner motif is something that must be displayed proudly.
Until Next Time!
