Funko POP: Charmeleon

Another Pokémon addition to my Special Friend's collection! This time it's the middle stage of the ever-so-famous Charizard! This POP was a long time coming, so let's see what this POP is all about, shall we?

Yes, we all know this guy is a fire element. I do like that they continue to keep the elements as a theme for the Pokemon POP boxes.

Charmeleon gives off that classic middle-child vibe. He’s not as adorable as Charmander, but he also doesn’t have the commanding presence of Charizard. Still, he’s unique in his own way.
With that sprouting baby horn on his head, arms that actually have some reach, and that iconic fire tail burning much bigger than Charmander’s, Charmeleon has a distinct look all his own. All of these details translate really well into his Funko POP form.
While the stylized proportions are a bit more obvious on Charmeleon, he still looks awesome. The sculpt is sleek and accurate to how he appears in other media, so overall — no complaints here.

How Charmeleon is posed is meant to show his details and sculpt. It's nothing crazy or anything that can be considered action. If anything else, Charmeleon looks like he's getting ready to spit some serious fire.

Charmeleon’s color falls into that dark red/dark orange-red territory. Other than his yellow stomach and the flame on his tail, he’s mostly this deep red all over. Funko really nailed that red — it’s mostly one solid plastic, so he looks cleanly painted and cohesive. I especially love the translucent fire on his tail. Job well done, Funko!

This is an awesome shot of these three! Despite only being the second form, Charmeleon makes his presence known here!

The two middle phases of the OG Pokémon! Even Ivysaur matches the grumpy look.

An easy recommendation. This POP has a lot of good things going for it despite its simplicity. Sculpt is good, the coloring is sharp, and the accuracy is spot on. To complete the Charizard evolution, one must catch this one. And don't worry, it's a good POP to catch.
Until Next Time!
