Funko POP: Hallow's Eve (Strange Tales)

Hallows' Eve over here is actually a 2025 catch. This review is from the past since I wasn't able to finish it before last year ended. But here it is now! So it's a definite addition to my Halloween POPs way before October 2026 comes around. So with that intro, let's look at the POP!

It's a good wave. One I'm tempted to finish. Maybe.

She's a bobblehead
She's a bobblehead

I don’t know much about this character, but I do know that when she wears a mask, she gains powers associated with the character the mask is modeled after, which is a really cool and fairly uncommon power set.

As a POP, though, she’s got a lot going for her that helps her stand out. The hood is beautifully sculpted, and the orange hair peeking out from the sides is a really nice touch. I especially love the masks she’s holding, and the tattered cape is also well done. There’s a lot of detail and care put into this figure, so I really can’t complain.

There’s nothing overly dynamic about the way Hallows’ Eve is posed as a POP. It’s a fairly neutral stance, with her masks held in hand, which keeps the focus on the character design rather than the action. That said, the subtle flow in her tattered cape suggests a light breeze, adding just enough implied movement to prevent the figure from feeling stiff. It’s a simple pose, but it serves the sculpt well and works within the limitations of the POP format.

Hallows’ Eve’s color execution is solid for the most part, but the issues become noticeable once you reach the face. The mask suffers from visible paint defects, with the white and black bleeding into each other. Considering the head is the largest and most eye-catching part of a POP, these imperfections stand out and do detract from the figure’s overall presentation.

That said, the rest of the paintwork helps soften the impact. The smaller masks are cleanly done, the clothing details read well, and the color choices for the plastic itself are thoughtfully selected. While the head’s paint flaws are hard to ignore, the figure as a whole still comes together decently. It’s not a terrible paint job by any means, but it’s far from perfect.

The details on those little mask is something to adore. She's got a vampire, a demon, and a skeleton... what powers does she get from those? Also, those won't fit her face!

While Hallows’ Eve’s counterparts don’t necessarily look like Halloween-exclusive POPs at first glance, they still fit the theme well, and all three display nicely together. As a set, they complement each other visually without feeling out of place. Dormammu and Morbius might be pickups for me… eventually.

An obscure character with a decent gimmick, Hallows’ Eve is a POP that suffers from some quality issues but still manages to look respectable thanks to solid sculpting and mostly well-executed paint work. All things considered, it’s not a bad pickup and makes for a decent addition to my Halloween POPs.

Can I recommend her? Not confidently. She’s definitely a niche figure, but if you do decide to grab one, I’d suggest being selective and making sure you get a copy with cleaner paint on the head.

Until Next Time!
