Funko POP: Headless Horseman (Ichabod & Mr. Toad)

Updated: Sep 30

Getting into the Spooky season, aren't we?! Well, it is that time of the year so we're getting into the festivity with October's popular holiday. Be prepared to see some Halloween POPs more than once within the next few weeks! It is that time of the year! Without further adieu, let's look at the Headless Horseman within the context of Ichabod & Mr. Toad.

Another Disney POP coming into my collection! This one falls into the 'rider' series, I feel, but it's never really stated on the box. Regardless, I'll consider it as such.

Clearly, he's not a bobblehead.

As far as the Horseman's design goes, he's pretty simple. He spent the majority of the time in the shadows so his cape and black horse were mostly the main standouts that he had in terms of design. He did, at one point, pull out a flaming pumpkin head, which this POP replicates. I don't remember him pulling out a sword either, but the again, it's been a while since I saw the movie.

As far as his sculpting goes, it's done well. Again, not a lot of complicated designs but his horse is sculpted well, and the 'movement' on his cape seems fluid and in-line with the dynamic pose his horse has. The sword is a bit plain but that's alright.

The horse does get a lot of attention and I'm all for it. He looks like a mean stallion and that's all we are looking for when we are talking about an evil horse. I like that pose and that angry mug with the big round red eyes.

The pumpkin definitely got some good attention with its sculpting, those transparent-flame plastics, and the color.

The colors are pretty simple since he and his horse are mostly black. The dark maroon for his cape is a good contrast, the red eyes on the horse are mean and robust; the pumpkin, flaming face and all, is a fantastic juxtaposition to the darker paint job of the entire POP.

All in all, he turned out well. I do like the way he looks and the intensity of the pose and the homage to the movie moment.

Here is POP Headless Horseman with POP Elsa w/ the Nokk. They absolutely look good next to each other!

A perfect Halloween POP, right? I'd say so. Not a lot of complex sculpting, but the pose is good and the style of the POP really represents the Horseman's appearance in the cartoon. I like this one a lot and I'm happy that it's now part of my Halloween POP lineup!

Until Next Time!
