Funko POP: Young Elsa (Frozen)

This is an oldie that I never snagged from way back when! My Special Friend gifted me this, so she's also pretty adamant about completing my Elsa POP collection. With that said, let's get into reviewing this, shall we?

Classic line-up! I have all the Elsas, obviously. But funny enough, there is a special edition of Elsa I have yet to nab.

It’s funny how this is from Frozen, but we never actually saw Elsa wearing this outfit while holding a snowball — except in the flashbacks. She was mostly wearing it while panicking and screaming, “It’s getting worse!” and “No, don’t touch me!”
Regardless, since Frozen was such a juggernaut, Disney and Funko capitalized on the hype and made POPs for pretty much every possible idea. This one captures Elsa’s adolescent Arendelle outfit, and honestly, Funko did a really good job with it.
The sculpted jacket piece looks nice, the long skirt flows well, and everything is recognizable and accurate. Her hair is also spot-on to how Elsa looked during that time in her life.

Elsa is holding a snowball in her hand and standing neutral. Nothing too dynamic, but it serves its purpose. It's an older POP, so it's not going to be anything grand compared to the POPs we get nowadays.

Elsa’s attire has a lot going on in terms of patterns and colors, even though it’s primarily dark blue with a few lighter tints. It features intricate lining, patterns, and those classic Arendellian designs. Honestly, for an older POP, the details are done really well.
The only things that feel a bit off to me are Elsa’s skin tone and the paint execution there. I’m not going to complain too much, though — there are still plenty of wins with this figure.

Both of these outfits appeared in the first Frozen. What a difference a half a decade would do to how Funkos are made, huh?

I really do think there are some odd choices for Elsa's skin tone back then.

I'd imagine that outfit Elsa wore when she was young would also fit a party. Probably not. Not fancy enough.

This was a neat surprise this year, and honestly, I’m really glad to have her! My Elsa POP collection is getting one step closer to completion, and I have my Special Friend to thank for that. I’m not going to call it a must-have POP, but it’s definitely an Elsa figure — so for me, it’s something I wanted in the collection. It’s an older POP with some outdated methods, but all in all, it’s still a decent one.
Until Next Time!
