If this were the final Spider-Man POP of the year, I'd say the Spiderverse collection was definitely eating healthy this year. This one is particularly good, so I won't waste time and will just jump into the review! Let's go!

I really wish that Spidey POPs kept the 'Beyond Amazing' title. Let's be honest, a lot of these Spidey waves are feeding the Spiderverse fandom. Still, it is just a box.

All the finer details of a classic Spider-Man POP are present here. The sculpted web lines, the opaque eyes — it’s all very familiar and consistent with other Spider-Man POPs I’ve collected over the years. It’s about as vanilla as a Spider-Man can get, and that’s actually a good thing. The real attraction is the overall presentation: the way the wall is sculpted and the implication of a symbiote ooze slowly crawling toward Peter. It’s a strong visual and one of those unique setups that offers a nice change from the standard common Spidey POPs.

As I mentioned, this one is all about the presentation. We’ve had web-slinging Spideys, neutral standing poses, dynamic aerial poses, and even Spider-Man relaxing on a webline. A wall-crawling Spider-Man POP, believe it or not, isn’t that common in my collection, so this feels like a welcome change.
Funko has been pretty consistent with the paint apps on these classic “vanilla” Spideys, and again, that’s not a bad thing at all. This one has an accurate, sharp, and clean paint job — exactly what I look for. The brick wall has some nice painted details that give it a worn and weathered look. While it doesn’t look 100% convincing as real bricks, it still does the job. The symbiote ooze has a deep jet-black color that looks accurate and on point.

I'm going to take a wild guess that at some point we are going to get a Symbiote version of this POP!

Both of these POPs are traditional versions of Spider-Man. The two are very consistent with each other; dare I say that the head sculpt is the same.

POPs that display Peter doing Spider-Man things are ones that I can always appreciate.
POP: Spider-Men

I’m always appreciative of Spider-Man POPs that harken back to a simpler and more traditional version of the old Webhead. Of course, a little gimmick is always welcome too. Being gifted this by my girlfriend gives it that extra boost, because I’m not the only one adding to the Spider-Verse collection. Highly recommend this one. It’s no longer a Target exclusive, so it’s pretty easy to snag for your collection!
Until Next Time!
