Art Share: "Tied Up Tuesday (Snoops - AKA Journalists/Reporters)"

Journalists and Snoops?! Yes, that's what this TuT is about! Now, I know 'snoop' is a very vague term which is why I want to mostly stick with Journalist/Reporters. But if we come across snoops, I'll give a brief explanation. Also, the format of this post will be slightly different since it will have both DiD-Art and canonical DiD-Art. I'll also put a huge focus on the pics for all of you to enjoy so I'll let them speak for themselves. With that said, let's get into today's Tied Up Tuesday, shall we?
APRIL O'NEIL
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 1984
For the first Tied Up Tuesday of April, we are going to kick it off with one of the lead Damsels of the business, April O'Neil! She's a pretty classic when we are talking about Reporters (or journalists) who often got herself into danger, accessorized with ropes and gags, and utterly helpless until her inevitable rescue. Give her all the love in the world and let's enjoy some artwork from the DiD community dedicated to her!
Now this isn't a very tremendous amount of pictures for April but last year, Ms. O'Neil took over Tied Up Tuesday so she's not exactly short on attention. But she's definitely not lacking the good stuff and she will continue to entertain for decades to come! And while her looks will continue to change based on the generation and the climate, we will always remember and honor every one of their time on the ropes!
Paula Peril
Paula Peril #1 2006
A new gal is on the block, right? Paula Peril is probably the 'youngest' gal in the group to join the ropes. Age as in, when she first appeared into the fiction world. Dressed to distress, consistently in distress, and with the looks that is perfect in distress... yeah, Ms. Perillio's got it made (for us).
All of these things, the novels, the graphic novels, and the movies, are all available at Atlantis Studios.
Paula Peril is a unique story of a DiD made to be a DiD. No hiding it. So needless to say, there is plenty of artwork of Ms. Perillio in DiD that is 'canon'. She has two dozen comic books under her skirt, a 'novel', a few live actions (with Valerie Perez), and an upcoming 3D-rendered movie short film. Not to mention, I have shared some artwork from the community. Needless to say, it's hard not to find something to enjoy with Paula's resume.
I have shared some commissions from KnightKiller82 regarding Paula Peril. While I'm not as committed as the deviant mentioned, I have put some effort into adding more peril to Paula's already long line of canonical DiDness.
Lois Lane
Action Comics #1 1939
She should be in the number one slot for all intent and purpose, right? She isn't the first to fill in the heels but she is one of the pioneers. Damsel in Distress theme is synonymous with Lois Lane! From the mid-1900s and even to the 2020s, it's hard not to find some kind of DiD art of her! And while I fondly remember Lois for her Superman TAS look, I'm sure plenty of others remember Lois for her other appearances. Still, comics, live-action (Teri Hatcher), video games, and even DiD-Fics, Lois Lane continues to struggle for our enjoyment!
What a wild gallery she has, right? And believe me, this ain't even scratching any surface! Lois Lane is a treasure. Even if I'm not her #1 Fan, I am for damn sure that as a DiD, she's high on a LOT of lists.
Shout Outs to other Journalists & Snoops
This is going to be a very short list. The archetype of snoops and journalists in trouble is a long-long line of mmmpphing and struggling. But I'm only pointing out the obvious ones who seem to have been created for the sake of being DiDs. Keep in mind that a lot of the pics below are going to be canonical and no special DiD-Arts--sort of.
Daphne Blake - "What a Knight for a Knight" 1969
Daphne is another classic for me. She didn't have as many moments in the original run as I would like but she DiD garner a few good ones and her following continued to push her on the map and I'm all for it. Maybe one day she'll find herself snooping on the wrong part of the Omniverse, eh?
Charlie Davidson - "Rock and Ride" 1993
I barely watched a single episode of Biker Mice from Mars, just to be clear. Charlie Davidson above isn't exactly on my mind and on my list. So why is she here? Because out of all the Ninja Turtles copycats, this show tried its best to give us the vibe that April gave. Got a lead damsel that got herself into predicaments galore. I'm sure not as much as April, Lois, and Daphne but she's a snoop. Charlie is a snoop that got her moments. Also, the intro for the show has her tied up, so...
Yes. Charlie deserves a shout-out from me even if she's the most obscure one in this line-up!
Kaitlin Star - "The Battle Begins pt. 1" 1994
Ah, yes. Kaitlin Star from VR Troopers. To anyone who is familiar to my blog will know that this journalist has a special place in my heart. Thanks to her iconic moment, she will forever live in fame.
I'm dedicated to Kaitlin Star's role as a Damsel Icon. So dedicated that I made it my sole mission to ensure that some of her best outfits and moments on the show get some 'real' DiD moments.
I've even spent time dabbling with AI to get some more variation to Kaitlin's Front Page. While they have done a good job, imagine AI manipulations in a few years! Kaitlin is not going to get any rest from me.
Well, that's it for now! I know this Tuesday's been pretty busy and, no, I don't have an April Fool's joke or anything. But I do hope y'all have a good start to the 4th month of the year!
