Batman is in no shortage of POPs; that much is certain with how popular he is. Strangely, I don't have a lot of Batman POPs. This is my 3rd one, if memory serves me right. At any rate, let's look at this POP, shall we?

That famous Batman logo! I'm not sure if Batman's POP numbers go up to the Spider-Man inventory... probably? I'm not going to be doing a Batman multiverse or anything, but I can appreciate that the Batman folks are eating with their Batman POP merch.

I remember Kingdom Come. I didn't necessarily read the whole graphic novel, but I did get the gist of it. One thing is certain: this particular armor I remember quite well. This was before the days of seeing Batman in armor quite frequently, too, so seeing Kingdom Come Batman was a treat. When I saw his POP, I wasn't initially going to get it, but when I saw it in person, I knew I had to get it and keep it on display for a bit. How Funko was able to translate that suit to POP form is impressive. The iconic 'cape and cowl' is not a helmet and metallic bat wings that allow him to fly. The bulkier body suit completes the armored look, which is well replicated here. I've always loved the bat symbol, the way it fixes itself to blend in with the bat wings. Put simply, the sculptwork on this thing is amazing.

It would have been nice to have him extend his wings. Of course, that would make this POP a non-common since it means the wingspan would warrant a bigger box. Still, the folded wings look is something we've seen in the comics, so it's not a bad look. The way wings are folded still allows for the collector to pose the POP in a classic display with other POPs. The armor, the bat symbol, it's all still visible, so no complaints.

This Batman is mostly colored with silver and black. A spec of white for the eyes and flesh tone for his mouth. This POP executed the color combo to its finest. I really don't have a lot to say other than they did an amazing job.

Gotta love that close-up! Look at all those armor pieces on his body suit.

Two completely different universes, but the same Batman pose. Awesome! Sad that we'll never see a Kevin Conroy (RIP) Kingdom Come Batman.

Want to talk about two different universes, these two are a definite far cry from each other! One is dark and brooding in a world where he's done being nice and putting himself on the line, while the other is as bright and jovial as your classic Superman can be. A great contrast though!
POP: World's Finest

As a casual Batman fan, this is a good POP. As I said, Kingdom Come is one of those graphic novels that I want to read fully one of these days. This POP, it's a good one, and I recommend it. It might be hard to find these days, so one might have to fork up a bit of extra when coming across on eBay or something. Still, it's got a lot going for it.
Until Next Time!
