Got ourselves another Strange Tales POP that I’ve been eyeing for a long while — until the special people in my life finally got tired of me nagging about it! All jokes aside, I really wanted this one, and I’m super grateful my girlfriend gifted it to me. After all that waiting, it’s finally time for the review!

Strange Tales creature! At this point, I'm only missing one, and I'm not entirely sure if I'm going to pull the trigger. We'll see.

For a Cosmic Being slash Demonic Entity, Dormammu sure likes to rock an outfit similar to your typical skin-tight superhero or villain. This look represents the time when Dormammu was first created — not the complex, intangible form we saw in the MCU. Because of that, it was an easy task for Funko to replicate the outfit. They sculpted the belt, boots, and gloves nicely.

What really stands out about Dormammu is his face. It gives me major Human Torch vibes — almost like an evil version of Johnny Storm or even the original Human Torch (Jim Hammond). Regardless, it’s his most recognizable feature, so a POP of him had to get it right. And this one does. The simple but effective approach was to take a regular POP head, use translucent plastic, and sculpt it to look like fire. The result is an awesome fiery headpiece that really works.

A mini Strange! How adorable. It's not a Bitty POP either.

Dormammu is posed standing there, holding a tiny Doctor Strange in his hand. While Strange isn’t doing much, I assume he’s either a prisoner or a visitor, and Dormammu is showing him some kind of reality-altering scenario. It’s a simple pose, but it works well and lets you focus on all the nice details — especially that fiery head.

The red and purple are cleanly painted and vibrant. Even the tiny Doctor Strange has solid paint details. But what really stands out to me is the translucent yellow plastic used for the flame effect — it creates a great contrast against the red of Dormammu’s face. No complaints here.

This is the kind of picture where you can see the comic book and the MCU design really clash!

Both from the same set. I'd like to see a Ghost Rider pulled off with more translucent fire plastic. I'm waiting for other Ghost Riders, to be honest with you.

Both Demonic lords in their own right. Both have had clashes with Dr. Strange, the Avengers, and ... Spider-Man.

This is a very simple POP that turned out to be better than I expected. The style they used for the head sculpt is perfect for characters like this. It makes me think it could work great for Human Torch or even Ghost Rider too. I’m very impressed and happy with this Dormammu. For those looking to complete their dark, mystic, or magical Marvel collection, this one is perfect. It’s also fairly easy to find, so go grab it if you want him!

Until Next Time!
