The moment I saw this, I knew I had to get him. Not only is it from Iron Man 2, but it's also a moment that I remember quite fondly. Ah... those good ole days of the MCU. At any rate, let's get into the POP, shall we?

As one of the minorities for loving Iron Man 2, every time a POP is announced based on that movie, I tend to give it some attention. Still waiting on a 'classic' MCU War Machine, mind you!

The Mark VI makes its presence known in Iron Man 2. While it isn't aesthetically too different from the Mark III, it is easy to distinguish thanks to the triangular arc reactor on his chest. This is also when Tony's weaponry starts getting even more advance and this suit is well known for participating in one of the best battle scenes in the MCU: Iron Man & War Machine vs the Hammer Drones. Speaking of that battle, Stark took some damage against the foot soldiers, though mostly cosmetic. For the POP, we do see that carry over, and along with the other details that come with an Iron Man suit, I do like that Funko took the time to try and replicate the scene from the movie as much as possible.

The pose is what sold this POP for me. While Funko could’ve just released a standard Mark V, nothing would’ve grabbed me faster than this iconic movie moment. Posing the POP like that scene is pure gold! Sure, the stylized proportions don’t capture the moment 100% accurately, but it still looks amazing. The lasers coming out of the back of Stark’s hands are sculpted with this distorted shape that really mimics movement. It’s awesome looking, actually.

The colors are pretty standard for the classic MCU red and gold Iron Man scheme. The plastic chosen gives Stark that nice metallic look I always appreciate on Iron Avenger POPs. This particular release goes a step further with the battle-damaged look — complete with black liquid splattered all over him from destroying one of the Hammer Drones. The plastic used for the laser coming out of his hand is decent, though I think something a bit brighter would’ve popped more.

All in all, he looks really good.

Now that is a murderer's face! He's a hero, yes, but he has no problem going all in when the situation calls for it.

I do love how the Mark V looks, to be honest. I prefer it over the Mark VI. Still, these POPs next to each other are always a treat.

The weight of the "I am Iron Man" moment in Endgame definitely pushed the laser kill scene out of the mainstream. Still, these two movie moments I hold dear.

The Entertainment Expo POP of Iron Man is still one of my personal favorites. Still one of the better ones. Of course, I'll pose him next to this Iron Man.

Ah, yes! The Hot Toy version of Mark VI. I tried replicating the pose, but Hot Toys are a bit stiff with certain poses. But, this is the POP of Mark VI next to its Hot Toy counterpart right next to each other!

So beautiful!
So beautiful!

I'm not going to say that this fight scene was surpassed in later movies, but this is still one of my main favorite scenes.

An absolute recommendation. Great details, awesome coloring, and that movie moment still gives me a total #nerdgasm. One catch: this was an Entertainment Earth exclusive, so availability isn’t the easiest. Still, if you manage to find it and you’re an Iron Man fan, this should be a no-brainer. Go get it.

Until Next Time!
