This beautiful POP is another one I didn’t get a chance to review last year. It was a gift for my special friend, who wanted this added to her collection—and honestly, how could she pass it up? Maleficent in her dragon form, recreating an iconic Disney movie moment? Yeah, this one was a must-have.
With that said, let’s take a look at this POP, shall we?
This is a good set! I don’t intend to collect all of it, but there are definitely a couple of standouts here. The new Maleficent looks especially cool and would pair really well next to this Dragon Maleficent.

I’ve always liked how Maleficent’s dragon form looked. Disney’s animation style back then had a way of making their monstrous villains feel both simple and intricate, and the Mistress of Evil’s dragon form is a perfect example of that. Her Funko POP version does a great job replicating this look within Funko’s stylized form.
The head sculpt really stands out here—the horns, the mouth, and that snarling expression make her look ferocious even with the oversized POP head. The smaller details help sell it too, like the wings protruding from her back, the tail, and the overall body sculpt, all of which make Dragon Maleficent feel imposing.
The scene itself is well done as well. The thorny vines wrapping around the bridge, the green flames, and the bridge’s sculpting all work together to capture the moment this POP is meant to represent.

Maleficent is posed as if she were the guardian of the bridge, snarling at any prince who would dare try to pass her. She stands her ground in full glory, fully backed by the thorny vines she conjured to block the way. Funko did a great job doing this moment justice.

This POP is mostly made of black plastic, but the vibrant accents of green, yellow, and purple create a strong and accurate color scheme that matches Maleficent’s appearance in the classic film. The paint application on her eyes, mouth, and facial details is clean, with little to no noticeable defects. The choice of translucent and textured plastic for the green flames and the bridge helps everything come together visually. Overall, the colors coordinate extremely well with the sculpted details, enhancing the dramatic impact of the piece.

Now that's a face! Again, loving the details placed in this creature!

The Mistress of Evil, next to her Dragon counterpart! I really should get an updated version of Maleficent someday. Still, these two look good next to each other.

Yes, these are all of my Disney villains in my collection. Yes, another area of my collection that I need to build up.
POP: Disney Villains

This is an amazing POP. The moment is iconic, the form is instantly familiar, and Funko’s translation of Maleficent into POP form works extremely well. It’s very easy for me to recommend, and a definite must-have for anyone who is a big fan of this character from the Sleeping Beauty classic. I know my special friend absolutely loves having this piece as part of her collection!
Until Next Time!
