Oh yeah! Time to talk about one of my favorite Spider-Men to have ever graced the pages of the comic books! I know that the Sensational Spider-Man run with Ben Reilly isn't exactly held in the highest regard, but who cares! Holds a special place in my heart and was definitely a big portion of my childhood! And, yes, this was gifted to me. So worth the hype? Let's jump right into the review and find out, eh?

Ah, yes! The Sensational Spider-Man! Part of the Summer Convention from 2025. This one was supposedly a Target exclusive--was easy for my friend to snag!

While Ben Reilly adhered to most of the traits that made the original look iconic, he did make some changes, such as making the spider logo bigger, switching up the reds with the arms and legs, and having the webshooters worn out rather than in. It's a subtle change, but still prominent enough to know that this suit isn't Peter Parker. As a POP, it's definitely got the advantage of being similar to the classic suit, so it's a design that Funko has done a few times before this POP's release. The sculpted web lines on the mask and the body suit are always something I'll appreciate! The webshooters over the wrist are simple, and it does a lot to really give this the Clone Spidey from the 90s feel!

The POP's stand is once again carrying a good portion of the work to sell this dynamic Spidey.

The pose is definitely a Spider-Man-esque posture, but this one, I feel, was more of Ben Reilly's signature Spidey pose.

Simple classic Spidey colors: red, blue, black, and white. The brightness is spot on, the boldness of the red is in your face, the paint job is clean, and the overall presentation just looks sharp and has no defects. Accurate and executed well. No complaints on the color side!

Somehow, the OG-Vanilla Spidey is a bit more vibrant and colored. Kind of fits the moody-ish vibe that a clone Spidey gives off.

While I much prefer his Sensational look, Ben's OG Scarlet Spider look will always be a classic and something I'll associate with my time in the 90s.

This was before the crazy symbiosis craze! Well, it was in its infancy since we already had the five symbiotes and Carnage, but all-in-all, Spider-Carnage was a stepping stone to what would turn out to be the craziest of all.

Oh man... what happened to Ben these days?

ree

As if Ben really wanted to deal with more Kaines in his life, eh?

In Earth X, Ben Reilly was Mayday's father, which is why she wore his costume and not Peter's. Regardless of which is which, the Sensational suit does work on Mayday!

It's this pose that I'm thinking of!

Thanks to Spiderverse, Sensational Spider-Man had a bit of a resurgence, and Ben Reilly got to show the side of him that we all knew he had: the heart of a hero. Also, that suit is just fire!

As an old-time favorite of mine, this POP was always going to be a must. The moment I found out it was out for preorder, I nagged my special friend until she eventually gave it to me. I promise I didn't beg that much. Great details, sculpt work all to familiar (in a good way), sharp colors, and nostalgia heavy... yeah this POP is a big recommend from me! Amazing POP? No. Spectacular? Maybe. Sensational? YES!

Until Next Time!
