Now this is a special, exclusive Funko POP that has one of those 'number of pieces' taglines. I try not to jump on the bandwagon, and I usually nab the ones I want... or try to anyways (I totally missed Spider-Cat). Superior Iron Man is not my favorite look for ole' Shellhead, but! I totally don't mind having him in my collection. So let's see if this POP deserves the limited edition idea. Let's go!

Yes, this is 9500 pieces rare. Me being a person who owns one of those is something of a prestige, right?

He is a bobblehead
He is a bobblehead

Superior Iron Man in the comics is a straight-up bad guy—a twisted, darker version of Tony Stark who embodies everything our classic Tony isn't. That said, his suit of armor isn't terrible at all; I've seen way worse in Stark's Hall of Armor. It's sleeker and more subdued than the usual loud red-and-gold, with that silver-and-teal Endo-Sym vibe giving off a sleek, almost futuristic edge. The 90s-style headgear sometimes hits me with Gambit-Havok-Cyclops vibes, but he does have a full helmet in the source material, too. Overall, the design's quirkiness and unique look translate really well to this POP figure.

Sadly, there's no helmeted version or chase variant out there—it's the open-face one only—but it is what it is. What really shines is the sculpt work: the detailed armor transitions, the smooth shift from the armored body to his exposed face, and that flowing hair, all the little sculpted elements of his suit—it's a good-looking POP for sure, and a lot of that credit goes to the excellent sculpting.

Superior Iron Man has a flying pose, and I've often mentioned how much I appreciate these on POP figures. The clear stand creates a cool illusion of Stark soaring through the air, really selling the mid-flight dynamic. Instead of the usual yellow/orange repulsor blasts, he's got these sculpted teal fireworks/effects bursting from his feet—matching the suit's sleek silver-and-teal Endo-Sym vibe perfectly and adding a fresh twist.

His arms aren't in the classic straight-out flying pose most Iron Man POPs go for, but I don't dislike it one bit; it feels more unique and confident. While I think an arrogant standing pose might suit Superior Iron Man's smug personality best, this flying one is still more than serviceable—and honestly, I like it a lot!

As for his coloring, this POP does a solid job honoring the comic-book Superior Iron Man. The chrome-silver base has a great metallic shine that really catches the light and gives that glossy, liquid-metal Endo-Sym feel. Subtle black tints on the armor create nice contrast against the silver, defining the details and plating perfectly. The teal accents tie it all together without overpowering—it's comic-accurate, the paint apps are clean with no bleeding or slop, and no complaints here.

I do appreciate that his eyes retain that signature teal color—it really pops against the silver armor and gives that futuristic, otherworldly vibe. The skin tone is spot-on: smooth and pale with just the right contrast to the metallic finish. You can clearly see that subtle arrogant expression—smug and superior, exactly as it should be. And I love how Tony's hair is styled, too.

Some of my favorite Iron Man POPs are next to Superior Iron Man. All three are doing different things, and they do look good next to each other.

Alternate versions of Tony Stark. All basically evil.

Probably some of Stark's strongest armors. Though I'm sure Mark L is the weakest one out of the three.

While I do see the value in a Superior Iron Man POP, I'm not sure I can confidently say a limited edition version would be something everyone’s chasing. He's already tough to find now, and you're probably not spotting him in the wild during POP hunts anytime soon. If you really need one, the secondary market with those inflated prices is where it'll be at.

That said, all gripes aside—he's a well-made figure. Great sculpt work, solid details, comic-accurate look, and a clean paint job with no major issues. I'd call this another strong release from 2025. Can I recommend it? For the most part, yes.

Until Next Time!
